Emmerdale’s Vinny Dingle star celebrates ‘amazing’ first as he celebrates Father’s Day

Emmerdale actor Bradley Johnson received a heartwarming message from his partner as he celebrated his “first” Father’s Day with his son.
The actor joined the cast of Emmerdale back in 2019 when he arrived in the village upon Mandy Dingle’s return. While often portrayed as a slightly awkward, comedic character, Vinny Dingle has found himself at the centre of some difficult storylines.
Vinny married Liv Flaherty after the pair met in lockdown. Unfortunately, their marriage was short-lived when Liv d.i.e.d during a freak accident for the soap’s 50th anniversary in 2022.
Since then, he struck up a relationship with Gabby Thomas after years of being close friends. In recent episodes, the couple decided to get engaged after Vinny panicked over being a father to her son, Thomas.
Vinny told Mandy: “Sometimes I feel like I can’t trust myself,” Vinny explains. “To tell him off without losing it. I don’t want to be like my dad. You don’t understand, mum – I can see the fear in his eyes every time I shout at him.”
His father was Paul Ashdale, a gambling addict who repeatedly attacked Vinny in a violent manner. The abusive storyline ended in 2021 after Paul’s d.e.a.t.h.
Although his spiral was soon put to an end when Gabby comforted him, it appears there are more troubles ahead in their relationship.
Vinny was involved in cahoots with newcomer Kammy Hadiq, but the vibe shifted when Vinny misread the signals and leant in for a kiss.
He tried to pass it off as a joke, and Kammy went along with it as he made an attempt to move on from the situation and grab a bite to eat together.
At the British Soap Awards, Bradley teased: “It’s very exciting for Vinny. He’s questioning a lot of things in his life right now, but that’s all I can say…”

On Sunday (15th June), Bradley’s fiancé Sammie posted on her Instagram an adorable snap of the actor and their 6-month old son Albie.
She wrote: “Happy first Father’s Day to Albie’s amazing daddy. We love you always xx”. This comes shortly after Bradley celebrated their son turning 6 months only recently.
At the time, he penned: “6 months of Albie. How you’ve brought so much love and joy into our life! We love you so much little man”.
