Days after the ordeal with Ella Forster (Paula Lane), Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) will be involved in another dramatic situation in Emmerdale soon, as she discovers partner Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) has been attacked.
Ella made a return to the village after being accused of drugging Chas.
Her aim was to get Liam to listen and believe that she was innocent but as a result of her spiralling behaviour, a calm conversation quickly went out of the window.
Ella got word that the police were on the way and ran from the Dales into the woods. Liam chased after her and tried to get Ella to see that she needed help.
She snapped at Liam and pushed him to the floor. As he fell, he hit his head on a rock. Liam was fine, but the ordeal mirrored how Ella k.i.l.l.e.d her friend Joanne so in that moment, she feared she had k.i.l.l.e.d again.
Once Ella was taken to a police cell, Chas felt as though the nightmare had finally ended. That was true, but in upcoming episodes, another very quickly begins.
Out on his own, Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) is panicked to find Liam on the floor after being knocked out.
Back in the village, Chas and Aaron (Danny Miller) get word from Mack that Liam has been attacked. They rush out, fearing what might come next.
It’s an unexpected development but given Ella is behind bars, who else is out to get Liam?
Could it be John (Oliver Farnworth), who was placed under the spotlight at his and Liam’s place of work following a misdiagnosis?
