ITV Emmerdale fans blast show’s ‘vile’ characters and beg for ‘double exit’
After sitting through Emmerdale's hour long episode on Monday night, some viewers have seen enough with some keen for ITV bosses to send two characters packing
Emmerdale bosses have been urged to wield the axe and perform brutal double exit drama by unhappy fans.
Fans reached after Monday night’s hour-long instalment was drama-filled for both the Dingles and the King family but although there was plenty to talk about, the bumper episode didn’t please everyone. Not only did Ruby (Beth Cordingly) cause more friction between her husband Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) and his brother Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
But Tom King, actor James Chase, upped his controlling and coercive behaviour as things turned toxic. Towards the end of the special, there was cross words in the pub and Caleb finally told his sibling that they were no longer family – and that he could forget about any more effort being made.
Tom showed his dark side to Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) after he told him to leave his wife Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) alone. To make matters even worse, Vinny ended up losing Belle’s new dog when he was out taking her for a walk. While this caused the duo to fall out, little did they know that it was Tom who had taken the dog and had her locked up at the vet’s surgery.
Viewers were left so angry by the episode that some claimed to “switch off”, while others want Ruby and Tom to “run away” together. Taking to X, one fan said: “Get rid #Emmerdale of Tom. We’ve had enough and need some welcome joy. You’re killing it and I give it 3 years.”
“I can’t watch #emmerdale whilst Tom is still in it he is VILE and makes me so angry,” another fumed. A third begged: “Make it stop ffs #Emmerdale.” “And turns the TV off! #Emmerdale so cringe,” a fourth went on while a fifth added: “How much longer have we got to put up with Psycho Tom and Psycho Ruby.” Someone else pleaded: “Insecure Tom should run away with rancid ruby.#Emmerdale.”
Troublemaker Ruby Fox-Miligan locks horns with another villager next week as a new feud rumbles on. This time it isn’t one of the Dingle clan that the character sparks drama with. After weeks of clashing with her extended family, amid her rocky marriage to Caleb Miligan, this time Ruby sets her sights on another villager to fall out with.
Spoilers reveal that she clashes with Manpreet Sharma, following an incident with Caleb in upcoming scenes. After suffering pains in upcoming episodes, Caleb arrives at the surgery hoping for an emergency appointment. Manpreet is unable to see him though, rushed off her feet, and she sends him packing. Caleb ends up collapsing in agony, while it remains to be seen what is wrong with him and whether he will be okay.
