The mysterious Ella Forster has led viewers to rack their brains to find out all of her secrets... and they are convinced of a return for Graham Foster, despite his 2020 death.

Emmerdale viewers are convinced newcomer Ella Forster may share a connection with Graham Foster as they predict he could come back from the dead.

Theories have been rampant since former Coronation Street actress Paula Lane made her arrival in the eponymous ITV village and as her on-screen alter ego grows closer to Liam Cavanagh, soap fans are desperately trying to rumble what she’s really up to.

The surgery secretary has been shrouded in mystery since her Dales debut and her surname, which is similar to Graham’s, left fans suggesting she could be his daughter or even another one of his exes.

One fan speculated: “People saying Ella is Tom King’s sister… well wouldn’t Jimmy recognise his own niece if it was? Before she joined I thought she was connected to Graham (Kim’s ex) but their surnames are slightly different as hers is Forster and his was Foster.”

Another one agreed as they theorised Graham may not be dead after all: “Ella and Graham NEARLY sharing a surname is too weird to be a coincidence in Emmerdale, surely… what if she’s related to him and he’s not really dead? We never saw the body.”

Graham Foster, who was played by Andrew Scarborough, was a resident in the village from 2017 until his death in 2020. During his stint in the Yorkshire Dales, he was known for romantically bonding with Kim Tate, whom he ended up marrying in 2012 after the passing of his first wife Cheryl Foster, and was a father figure to her treacherous son Joe.

Graham embarked on a relationship with Rhona Goskirk prior to his death, which earned him the ire of her ex-husband Pierce Harris. Moments before he was killed by a fatal blow to the head with a torch (after surviving a fall from a cliff) it was revealed that, following Pierce’s release from prison for raping the village vet, Graham had beaten him up and warned him to stay away from Rhona.

Is Graham Foster really dead? Viewers are convinced he could make a shocking return

Pierce refused to comply and spied on Rhona, only to find out she was planning to move away to France with Graham and her son Leo, prompting him to take his rival out before it was too late. When Graham’s body was found, Marlon Dingle was immediately blamed for his murder but Rhona suspected something was amiss and was adamant on finding the real culprit.

In February 2020, Pierce was eventually found out when he kept Vanessa Woodfield and her son Johnny hostage for several weeks before Rhona confronted him to make him admit he had killed Graham. Pierce was then arrested and thrown behind bars. He was said to have died in prison by his long-lost son Marcus Dean in 2022.

Kim Tate had her ex-husband cremated a month later, and held his funeral alone despite promising Rhona she’d be a part of it, meaning viewers never received tangible proof he had been killed. Could there be a reason behind the secrecy?
