ITV Emmerdale ‘heartbreaking’ first look shows April Windsor’s harrowing story
Emmerdale viewers will see a special standalone episode on Tuesday evening that recounts the heartbreaking story of April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and her life on the streets
Emmerdale is set to air some gut-wrenching scenes this Tuesday (February 4) as the full extent of April Windsor’s ordeal comes to light. Fans will remember that the teen vanished over the festive period, last seen hopping into a mystery motor.
Since her disappearance, there’s not been any sign, save for the discovery of her covert social media alter ego, snaps of her looking worse for wear at a bash, her purse turning up at a hospital, and CCTV footage capturing her sprinting through Leeds. But the plot thickens in next week’s episodes when April’s frantic parents, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), get word that their girl has been found.

Viewers are in for an emotional rollercoaster with a special episode dedicated to April’s story, played by Amelia Flanagan, revealing her harrowing time living rough. This flashback will take us through April’s desperate search for shelter and the chilling and soul-crushing experiences she endured on the streets.
Emmerdale’s Producer, Laura Shaw, has said about the upcoming storyline: “April’s flashback episode is a heartbreaking depiction of life on the street as a teenage girl.
“Continuing to take guidance from the fabulous team at Missing People, it was incredibly important that we didn’t shy away from the agonising journey that April would go through and their help was invaluable in making sure the episode has the authenticity required,” reports Leeds Live.
“Amelia Flanagan’s outstanding performance makes this arguably, one of Emmerdale’s stand out episodes of this year and promises to start a new journey for the character of April, forever changed by her time living on the city streets.”
Emmerdale airs every weekday at 7.30pm on ITV1, ITV X, STV and STV Player with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. It is also available each morning from 7.00am on ITVX.
