ITV Emmerdale newcomer Rose’s real identity and ulterior motive ‘sealed’ ahead of debut
Emmerdale fans will be introduced to a new character called Rose, played by Christine Tremarco, who is known to Will Taylor, the husband of soap favourite Kim Tate
Emmerdale viewers are convinced they’ve rumbled newcomer Rose’s real identity and ulterior motive.
The hit ITV soap announced earlier this week that Christine Tremarco is joining the soap as a mysterious lady called Rose. Rose will make her debut on screen later this month but fans are yet to know what secret she is hiding.
Christine will play Rose, who has a connection to Kim Tate’s husband Will Taylor, and viewers have already been speculating about her real identity and ulterior motive. Rose is described as bolshy and boisterous and she has spent the last few years in Benidorm. When she shows up, Will fails to mention her to his wife Kim Tate, sparking suspicion over why he is being so coy.
Taking to social media, viewers have been quick to share their theories, predicting as well as Will, Rose may have another link in the village. Viewers will recall that only recently, fellow new character Ella Forster has been leaving fans suspicious as she’s clearly hiding something, predicting Rose could have a link to Ella, one fan said: “Bet she’s Ella mum!”

Elsewhere, another viewer thinks Rose could be linked to Kerry Wyatt, who recently returned to the village after working on a friend’s cruise ship. Kerry was dropped off at the house by PC Swirling, where she told confused daughter Amy that she had been falsely accused of stealing by her estranged fiancé but she promised her daughter that this wasn’t the case. However, later on, the truth was revealed as Kerry removed money and jewellery from her outfit. Taking to social media, one person said: “My guess is, she were on the ship with Kerry!”
Meanwhile, another fan predicted: “Has Will got a sister we don’t know about? Or cousin?” while a different viewer added: “I wonder what ulterior motives she’ll have!” Speaking about her new role, actress Christine said: “I am thrilled to be joining Emmerdale!
“To be working with such a wonderful cast and crew along with the brilliant writing and production team is an absolute joy! Rose is so much fun to play. She is free spirited, boisterous and totally mischievous with a steely edge and a big heart.”
Producer Laura Shaw added: “We are massively delighted to welcome Christine Tremarco to the Emmerdale Family. Christine brings a wealth of experience and talent and playing the character of Rose, a true free spirit with an exuberant outlook on life, she certainly promises to cause a real storm for some of our villagers.”
Christine – who has also had roles in the likes of The Responder, Safe House and Casualty – will make her debut in the soap later this month when she arrives, much to Will’s surprise, and the truth about her connection to him is exposed.
