Emmerdale delivered a heart-wrenching twist for Dawn Fletcher on Wednesday (May 14), sparking speculation among viewers that her departure could be imminent after they picked up on two telling clues.

This week saw Dawn (Olivia Bromley) and her husband Billy (Jay Kontzle) agree to feign reconciliation after Dawn admitted to shoving Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) out of a window.

The duo decided to claim they were together in bed at the time of the incident, providing them both with a fabricated alibi, leading to Billy’s return to Home Farm. Yet, in the latest visit to the Dales, Dawn’s admission to Billy had dire repercussions.

At Home Farm, Billy eavesdropped on a chat between Kim Tate (Claire King) and Dawn in the kitchen. The conversation revolved around Joe’s condition, with Dawn evidently worried about her lover, despite her earlier assertion that she was the one who pushed him, reports Leicestershire Live.

Kim proposed that Dawn accompany her to see Joe in hospital, but Dawn hesitantly refused. “But you’d like you,” Kim pressed, to which Dawn responded: “Am I that obvious?”

Dawn then acknowledged her enduring love for Joe, leaving Kim perplexed given Dawn’s supposed commitment to repairing her marriage with Billy.

She assured Kim that her feelings for Joe were irrelevant now, as she needed to concentrate on Billy and their children.

Subsequently, Billy didn’t hesitate to confront Dawn about her clandestine discussion with Kim, revealing that he had overheard every word.

Billy was incensed and pressed Dawn to reveal if she still held a torch for Joe. Dawn reluctantly admitted her lingering feelings for the comatose villain after the horrific event.

Crushed by her admission, Billy declared their alibi agreement null and void and expressed his desire to remove himself from Dawn and their living situation.

He lamented, “I do not know you anymore,” before issuing a stark ultimatum: “If you don’t want to go to prison, I want full custody of the kids.”

Unbowed, Dawn stood firm against his demand to take Clemmie, Lucas, and Evan, yet Billy exited with a menacing word of caution: “If Joe doesn’t throw you to the wolves, I will.”

Emmerdale enthusiasts are abuzz with theories that Dawn could end up incarcerated for Joe’s attempted murder, or Kim might banish her from Home Farm for her lies, leaving her no choice but to depart the village without her children.

On platform X, a viewer posted: “I can’t wait for Queen Kim to find out the truth!! And to kick Dismal Dawn out of her house! #Emmerdale.”

Another commenter suggested: “Well maybe Dawn should go to prison forever then”.
