ITV Emmerdale twists ‘sealed’: Ella’s identity, Rose’s link to Will and Eric and Tom ‘rumbled’
Emmerdale could be lining up a number of bombshells on the ITV soap in the coming weeks and months, with several secrets yet to be exposed and identities hidden
Emmerdale viewers could be in for some interesting scenes ahead, as twists and secrets come to light.
Several villagers are hiding something, from their true identities to shocking actions. While on resident is hiding his horror abuse towards a loved one, two newcomers have yet to reveal some big truths.
Existing characters also have something to hide it seems, and one character has set someone up big time. But its soap land, and nothing stays a secret forever.
So what might we expect to come to light in the coming weeks? Here we look at spoilers for the weeks and months ahead, as well as the big twists and secrets likely to be exposed at some point…
Ella’s secret exposed?
We know that newcomer Ella Forster is hiding something, we just don’t know what. It’s been confirmed she has a past, and is hiding something about her life away from the village.
Her comments here and there about old friends have left fans wondering if she is linked to a past character, or is tied to an existing character. Is she hiding her real name and identity, and her real reasons for heading to the village?
Nothing is known for now, but she’s been on the soap for a while so it’s only a matter of time before the truth is revealed. In the next few weeks or months we may finally find out her secret, and whether she really is linked to someone we know.
Rose’s true identity
We will soon find out the real identity of newcomer Rose in the coming weeks, and her link to Will Taylor. Rose debuts in the next couple of weeks, with Will sneaking off to see her.
We know her and Will have history, with soap producer Laura Shaw teasing: “We’ve got a new character joining the show called Rose. She’s mysterious, boisterous, bolshy and a bit of a free spirit.
“She loves to party. What I can tell you is she is somebody from Will’s past and she’s gonna be on our screens fairly soon. She’s gonna be causing a real storm at Home Farm and with Will’s wife Kim.” At some point this link and her real identity will be exposed.

Eric’s lies rumbled
Viewers up to date with the soap will have seen Eric Pollard is hiding something after conning a character. In all fairness, Kerry Wyatt stole the necklace in the first place before turning to Eric for help in getting it sold for a good price.
Eric allowed Kerry to think it was worthless, buying it off her for under £100, amid Kerry hoping to use the money to pay for daughter Amy’s wedding. So when the wedding was put on hold without the funding, Eric played the hero when he offered to pay the amount.
Viewers soon realised where the money came from though, as Eric had made a deal with a pawnbroker knowing full well the necklace was very valuable. Eric was handed a load of cash, with him hinting more money could be on the way – so how will Amy, Kerry and the others react when the truth comes out?
Abusive Tom exposed
Tom King and Belle Dingle’s coercive control storyline is about to escalate once more, with it seeming that Tom will turn violent towards his wife. Laura told us: “We’ve seen how their wedding night ended with Belle in tears, and we’ve seen since how Tom started to manipulate Belle and coercively control her.
“This long-running storyline has been really carefully researched and it’s going to continue over the next few months. We’ve been given access to real-life stories and spent time with charities like Refuge. What we’ve learnt from them is just how quickly coercive control relationships can turn physical, so that’s what we’ll see happen next with those two.” But could this mean Tom will finally be exposed?

Boss reveals spoilers
Laura recently told The Mirror about a devastating storyline on the way for Billy Fletcher and Dawn Taylor, and their baby son Evan. She said: “We have got a big story coming up for Billy and Dawn. We are going to see their world totally rocked when almost out of nowhere Evan is diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
“ALL is one of the most common childhood leukaemias. I think 650 children and young adults are diagnosed every year in the UK. What we really want to show with this story is just what a stress and a strain it can put on a family, a long-term illness like that.
“What we see is the roles of Dawn and Billy are changed overnight and out of nowhere. We will see how Lucas and Clemmie are affected and the stress it will put on that sibling dynamic.
“We’ll see how it affects Billy and Dawn’s relationship and the wider family and all their friends, and the financial pressure that looking after a child like this long-term can put on a whole family. So that’s going to be a big story for us going forward.”
Laura also teased some special episodes on the way including one featuring Tom and Belle. Tragedy will soon hit the village with another big accident too, which could tear two families apart. Remaining coy on who it involves and what happens, Laura said: “We’re gonna see an accident happen that’s gonna affect two big family groups.
“It’ll connect those family groups together. We’ll see someone in some really serious medical jeopardy, whether they live or die we’ll have to see. What I can tell you is that the ripples and repercussions from that accident will be very long-lasting and life-changing for a number of our villagers.”
