ITV Emmerdale viewers work out who will expose Tom King after Piper’s death

ITV Emmerdale fans were left scratching their heads as they noticed a major error after evil vet Tom King killed Belle Dingle's dog Piper in brutal scenes

Emmerdale fans were left scratching their heads after spotting a glaring mistake after Piper’s devastating off-screen death.

Dales villain Tom King, played by James Chase, claimed his first victim during this Monday’s (August 19) trip to Emmerdale, days after the vile vet caused an uproar among viewers when he mowed over Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor-Draper) beloved pooch on Friday.

Belle has been trying to escape his clutches and end their toxic marriage for several weeks, but he’s determined to win her back, playing the innocent while secretly spying on her every move with hidden cameras and trackers.

But after his plan to get closer to him spectacularly backfired, as she realised what he had done to her four-legged companion, fans of the ITV soap think that one couple will be joining Belle in taking Tom down for his misdeeds.

Viewers took to X, otherwise known as Twitter, following Piper’s off-screen death on Monday, as they began to hope Eric Pollard and his partner Brenda Walker (portrayed by real-life couple Chris Chittell and Lesley Dunlop) may find CCTV footage of Tom driving over Piper on purpose – the proof Belle would need in order to finally boot Tom out of her life for good, and maybe even out of the village.

One fan wrote: “Seeing as Wishing Well Cottage is next door to Eric’s house, could his doorbell camera have captured Tom’s most vile and cruellest act?” A second TV watcher added: “Certainly hope so, although a horrible experience for Eric and Brenda if they check the footage”, just as another commented: “What a good thought.”

After watching the “distressing” scenes, some fans even threatened to lodge a formal complaint with broadcasting regulators Ofcom about the controversial storyline. “Nooo, not Piper, Tom I hate you”, one of them wrote, while another jumped in: “More animal cruelty. Miserable characters. Switching over to Netflix now.” A third continued: “That’s it im done with this s*** my kid is freaking out.”

One fan chimed in: “Don’t think I’m emotionally stable enough to watch #Emmerdale tonite lol!! wish they didn’t use the dog in this storyline!!”, just as a final fan echoed: “Really s*****, exploitative storyline with the dog. Stay classy #emmerdale.” Another then concluded: “OFFCOM!!!! Poor Piper, did she really have to die for us to know Tom is a bastard!? My heart is breaking for Belle.”
