ITV Emmerdale’s Rhona Goskirk star’s forgotten role on rival soap before Dales debut uncovered
Emmerdale actress Zoe Henry has been a soap favourite for over 20 years, but before she played Rhona Goskirk, she had a brief stint on rival soap Coronation Street
Emmerdale fans have been left stunned by Zoe Henry’s secret role on another ITV soap. The actress, who first appeared in the Dales as Rhona Goskirk back in 2001, quickly became a fan favourite.
Rhona has had her fair share of dramatic storylines – from substance abuse and feuds to near-death experiences and affairs, her time in the Dales has been anything but dull. Currently, her husband Marlon Dingle’s (Mark Charnock) daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) has been missing since Christmas, last seen getting into a car driven by an unknown individual.
Before her Emmerdale days, Zoe had roles in Dalziel and Pascoe, The Bill, A Touch of Frost and Casualty. However, it’s her stint on rival soap Coronation Street in the ’90s that has got tongues wagging.
Zoe joined the Corrie cast in 1998, playing Log Thwaite, the vegan girlfriend of Spider Nugent (Martin Hancock). She only appeared in six episodes, but certainly stirred up some drama.
Log was despised by Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor), who had her eyes on Emily Bishop’s eco-warrior nephew herself. Toyah managed to trick Log into eating a bacon sandwich and ensured Spider caught her in the act, reports Leeds Live. He promptly dumped Log for betraying their vegan principles, leading to her exit from the soap.
Zoe, who graced the cobbles of Coronation Street back in 2007 as Casey Carswell, has opened up about her time on the show. She famously got involved with Claire Peacock’s hubby, Ashley, stirring up a storm.
Chatting about her Corrie days, Zoe didn’t hold back, telling Metro: “It was my first job out of drama school and I was absolutely thrilled. Log was an ex-girlfriend of Spider, who turned up out of the blue but Toyah Battersby drove them apart. It was 24 years ago and I only did six episodes, but Georgia Taylor, who plays Toyah, is very sweet whenever I see her.”
Corrie fans were left picking their jaws up off the floor when they clocked Zoe on the show. The Facebook crowd went wild, with one fan posting: “I did not recognise her.”
Another chimed in with: “I didn’t know that was Rhona she was young there.” And a third was so shook, they had to hit up Google, writing: “I had to Google it and it is her!”
