ITV Emmerdale’s Tom King ‘murdered at Christmas’ as fans ‘work out’ whodunit twist
Emmerdale fans are convinced that Belle Dingle's abusive husband Tom King will be 'murdered' in a whodunit storyline this Christmas as his reign of terror continues
Emmerdale’s Tom King, played by James Chase, is yet to face justice for his domestic abuse towards estranged wife Belle Dingle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper.
The ITV soap has been documenting Tom’s horrific treatment of Belle and the devastating effect it’s had on her mental health. Despite Belle trying to break free from their marriage, Tom continues to manipulate her.
Meanwhile, he’s started a relationship with Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) in an attempt to make Belle jealous and portray himself as a desirable partner rather than a villain.
Belle has reported Tom’s violence to the police and is hoping that his broken iPad will provide evidence of his controlling behaviour – crucial proof she needs to avoid being prosecuted for attacking him with an axe in self-defence. This week, Tom continued to play the innocent, provoking Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) at Butler’s Farm.
Cain pushed Tom to the ground but stopped short of a full-on attack. Now, Emmerdale fans are speculating that Tom is stirring up trouble in the village ahead of a major ‘whodunit’ storyline that could see him killed off this Christmas.
The fan elaborated: “I’m calling it. A tired old soap plot line but you can see it coming. The way he’s in people’s faces now, like yesterday Cain and Paddy – he’s going to go around the entire village giving everyone a reason to kill him.”
They continued, forecasting a complex plot structure: “Then there’ll be tonnes of episodes showing who did what from their perspective. And it’ll end up being Amelia that kills him. Or someone totally random like Claudette.”
Another viewer chimed in with their own twist, saying: “It could be Jimmy that’d be good. Also, Tom King Sr. (Jimmy’s dad, Tom’s grandad) was killed on Xmas day 2006. He fell out of a window, and one of the witnesses was Belle who was singing a carol. They could mirror that somehow, that’d be good.”
Yet another added to the speculation, stating: “I said this at the beginning of the storyline, they’re setting up a “Who Killed Tom King Jr” which is ironic considering Classic Emmerdale is currently at 2006 the year of “Who Killed Tom King Sr”.”
Discussions heated as one viewer suggested: “Well Amelia, Brenda and Leyla are both leaving, so …..who knows? ! “, while another hoped: “PLEASE let it be Claudette.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
