ITV Emmerdale’s Tom King sets sights on new victim as love triangle twist ‘sealed’

Tom King is ready to move on as Gabby Thomas caught his eye during Tuesday's trip to Emmerdale. But could it take a nasty turn in the midst of his separation from Belle?

Could Gabby Thomas fall for Tom King’s charms as the villain appeared to set his sights on her during this Tuesday’s Emmerdale?

The character portrayed by Rosie Bentham has recently embarked on a romantic relationship with warm-hearted nerd Vinny Dingle (played by Bradley Johnson), a stark contrast from her former bad boy partners, from the treacherous Jamie Tate to the secretive Nicky Milligan, who turned out to be gay.

But while she seemed to have raised her standards, villainous Tom King (James Chase) tried to flirt with her in The Woolpack during this Tuesday’s (August 20, 2024) trip to the Dales, sparking suspicion Gabby could relent and become his third victim.

The son of Carl King, Tom has spent months trying to to exert control over his bride, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) but after being continually bullied, the wedding planner called it quits and the murder of her dog Piper confirmed she wanted nothing to do with him.

After trying to win her back, Tom appeared to give up on Belle in the snap of a finger after burying Piper with his estranged wife, Lydia and Sam Dingle (respectively portrayed by Karen Blick and James Hooton), when Gabby entered The Woolie for another date with Vinny Dingle. Flirtatious Tom showered Gabby with compliments, leaving her feeling awkward when Vinny joined her in the boozer, looking cautious due to his own past with Tom.

“I have a feeling Tom will get into a relationship with someone else in the village and control them the same”, one viewer theorised on social media. Another cringed as they added: “Tom flirting with Gabby #Emmerdale.” A third X user continued: “TomT*t trying it on with Gabby. I’m gonna f***ing vomit #Emmerdale.”

This comes after fans began to speculate that two soap legends could expose Tom King for killing Belle’s beloved dog Piper. Viewers took to X, otherwise known as Twitter, following Piper’s off-screen death on Monday, as they began to hope Eric Pollard and his partner Brenda Walker (portrayed by real-life couple Chris Chittell and Lesley Dunlop) may find CCTV footage of Tom driving over Piper on purpose – the proof Belle would need in order to finally boot Tom out of her life for good, and maybe even out of the village.

One fan wrote: “Seeing as Wishing Well Cottage is next door to Eric’s house, could his doorbell camera have captured Tom’s most vile and cruellest act?” A second TV watcher added: “Certainly hope so, although a horrible experience for Eric and Brenda if they check the footage”, just as another commented: “What a good thought.”

While Belle could still receive help from a surprise ally, the long-term Emmerdale resident took a brave step forward on this Tuesday’s instalment of the show, as she consulted the police about Clare’s law, to find out if Tom had an abusive past with his former partners.
