After a tumultuous 12 years together, J acqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne have called time on their relationship, confirming the split last week. And after it was reported the pair were in ‘crisis talks’ over potentially saving their marriage, a source tells us that Jacqueline’s friends are urging the EastEnders star to think about the split decision carefully, amid fears she’ll end up heartbroken once again.

The couple, who share two young daughters, announced in a statement that they were ending their marriage, but would will still have each other’s and their children’s best interests at heart.

And now, our source has claimed, “Jacqueline’s friends are worried she’s been through so much heartbreak and don’t want her to get hurt again. They want her to take her time and really think about what the best decision for the whole family is, but it’s tough when she’s so heartbroken and wants to save the marriage.”

It’s not just Jacqueline’s friends who appear worried for the star, as fans have also been sharing their opinions to the actress since her split was announced.

Sharing their thoughts online, many were urging Jacqueline to embrace single life following the split, as one user wrote: “She’s better off without him”, while another said of the break-up, “Make it for good this time”. A third echoed, “Call it a day!”

Queen of the Jungle Jacqueline, 32, and former TOWIE star Dan, 33, first started dating back in 2013 after meeting at an awards ceremony, when Jacqueline was very much still a rising star in the land of TV soaps.

Their official split statement said: “Jacqueline and Dan are handling things privately, choosing to keep their lives and relationship out of the public eye. They kindly ask for respect and privacy as they navigate this together. Their children remain their top priority, surrounded by love and care from both parents, something that will never change. Above all, Jacqueline and Dan have each other’s and their children’s best interests at heart. There will be no further comment.”

Our source adds that the couple were in a negative spiral before the split was announced, claiming, “They’re different people to who they were when they first got together. They’ve realised they’re not really headed down the same path any more and things haven’t been good for a while.

After taking a break from EastEnders to focus on being mum to Ella, 9, and Mia, 6, Jacqueline stepped back into her role of Lauren Branning in 2023. Claiming this hasn’t helped things at home, the source added, “Jacqueline has been working really hard back on EastEnders, and that means early starts and a lot of time on set, and that dynamic doesn’t always work for every partner. It’s not the same as when both people are in the industry.

“There have been quite a lot of ups and downs, and it just got to a point where they had to ask if they’d be happier apart, and acknowledge that happy parents means happy kids.”

Dan has reportedly moved out of the family home, but it was reported late last week that there’d been no talk of divorce and there a glimmer of home that, despite the public statement, they might be able to get things back on track.

Dan and Jacqueline have been through their fair share of ups and downs, and their relationship has been a hot topic pretty much since they became an item, twelve years ago. At the time of meeting, Dan was expecting a baby with his ex partner Megan Tomlin.

In August the following year, Dan and Jacqueline announced they were expecting their first baby together, and daughter Ella was born in February 2015. Dan proposed to a then 22-year-old Jacqueline a few months later and they exchanged their vows at the stunning Cheshire Manor House two years later, and welcomed their second daughter, Mia, in summer 2018.

But things weren’t particularly settled during her second pregnancy, and Dan temporarily moved out the family home amid rumours he’d cheated with Love Islander Gabby Allen, after images showing the pair on board a yacht sparked a flurry of speculation – allegations he has always denied.

Following Mia’s birth, further allegations came out about Dan allegedly enjoying a threesome with his fellow Celebrity Big Brother stars Natalie Nunn and Chloe Ayling, but he vehemently denied these.

After Jacqueline earned a whole new army of fans during her winning stint on I’m A Celebrity, Dan issued a grovelling apology to the jungle queen, admitting he’d made mistakes “that have almost cost me my family”.

After leaving the show, Jacqueline said she “wanted to hit the restart button”, adding “it’s been two years of me basically giving him hell and it’s not like he’s got away lightly at all”.

And after such a rocky ride, relationship expert Tina Wilson, who is founder of Wingman app, tells us that Jacqueline should walk away knowing she has done everything she can for the relationship. She explained, “Throughout their marriage, Jacqueline and Dan faced several scandals, with Jacqueline often shouldering much of the emotional burden. However, her willingness to see the best in her husband and hold on to the hope that he could change shouldn’t be viewed as a weakness. Jacqueline gave everything to make the relationship work, and while it ultimately didn’t, she can walk away knowing she didn’t give up at the first sign of trouble. She stayed true to herself, trying her best to make things work.”

Our source says that while there’s no third party involved in their decision to separate for good, the previous trust issues have never truly gone away. “There isn’t anyone else involved but of course they’ve had a few trust issues in the past, and those sorts of things don’t always go away,” they claimed.

And while it may not be an easy situation for the couple to be navigating, expert Tina says that Jacqueline and Dan must focus on parenting their two girls above anything else. “What stands out now is their shared commitment to being good parents and focusing on their children. At this stage, that’s the most important priority—staying focused on their kids’ well-being, rather than trying to score points against one another,” she says.
