James Bye teases ‘more to come’ as he reunites with EastEnders co-star after shock d.e.a.t.h

EastEnders star James Bye has teased fans in the caption of a sweet video in which he reunites with co-star Lacey Turner.

James’ character Martin Fowler was killed off in devastating scenes during the 40th anniversary live episode in February.

The emotional scenes saw him crushed beneath a beam when the Queen Vic exploded, having gone back in to get Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) out.

His final moments were spent alongside Stacey, as he admitted that it was her that he loved before dying from his injuries.

Now, the actor has reunited with co-star and ‘#bestie’ Lacey Turner, sharing the lovely moment on Instagram.

‘Always great to spend some time with my old mucker, so much love for you Lacey,’ he wrote beside the video, before teasing that there was ‘more to come’ with an emoji of two eyes.

What could that possibly mean? Could we be getting a Martin Fowler resurrection? A return in ghost form? Anything is possible in soap!

Fans were thrilled by the clips of James and Lacey, with one commenting: ‘The reunion we all wanted!’

‘She’s beautiful and glad to see you back together,’ another said, as a third added: ‘I love that you both kept in touch …’

The pair met up at the Prat Pack tour – a show featuring fellow EastEnders stars Shane Richie and Brian Conley, alongside Bradley Walsh and Joe Pasquale.

James clearly enjoyed the show, branding it a ‘must see’.

Martin was a major character in the BBC soap, having been the first baby born on screen in 1985, to parents Pauline and Arthur Fowler.

In his final weeks, he had donated his liver to son Roman, who he shared with Ruby Allen, and reunited with her, leaving Stacey devastated.

Following his d.e.a.t.h, there was tension between Stacey and Ruby as they attempted to plan his funeral.

Eventually, the two women formed a truce just before Ruby left Albert Square.
