James Farrar reveals very different new job away from EastEnders
EastEnders star James Farrar has revealed his venture away from the BBC soap, and it is totally different to his role as Zack Hudson.
Alongside acting, James hosts wellness retreats, which offer yoga, meditation and workout sessions, as well as other activities to promote wellbeing.
James founded Remedy wellness retreats with wife Ali Roff Farrar in 2018, and took to Instagram to explain how the project has expanded over the years.
‘We’ve gone from hosting 9 exhausted Greenwich Mum’s sharing rooms to a luxury retreat venue with sauna, plunge, jacuzzi, cinema and acres of woodland thanks to our friends at Bonington Farm,’ he wrote in a recent post.
The couple are set to host their next retreat in January 2025, with their Instagram followers quick to express their excitement.
‘Well done guys. This looks bloody brilliant,’ one said, while another wrote: ‘Looks good.’
Earlier this year, James shared a candid video for mental health awareness week, discussing his own mental health.
‘I’m constantly obsessing over what needs to be done next,’ he told his 103k followers.
‘And it can really…. consume is the word. I feel consumed by it, but at the minute I’m alright. I just wanted to share that and say fi you relate or if you have other things going on, it’s nothing too small, reach out to a mate.’
He added: ‘Last week it took my physio to say “go and rest you nutcase.” I just want to say take this time to look around you and just talk. Sending blessings, bye.’
The actor has played the role of Zack Hudson in the London-based soap since 2021, and has been part of some huge storylines.
Last year, he was involved in a powerful storyline that saw Zack diagnosed with HIV, as well as the devastating loss of baby daughter Peach.
There is still plenty more to come for the character, as James told Metro at the Inside Soap Awards.
‘It’s clever, that’s all I’ll say. Nobody knows bar Chris [Clenshaw], the press team, my wife and Aaron [Thiara, who plays Ravi Gulati] know,’ he teased, only revealing that the story wouldn’t involve a romance.
‘If I was to tell somebody, it doesn’t do the story justice and the story is so clever.’
