Kim Tate’s exit ‘looms’ as Emmerdale Home Farm gets new owner
Emmerdale fans are convinced that a returning icon is set to purchase Home Farm - and Kim Tate will be left seething as the new owner is unveiled in a shocking twist
Emmerdale fans predict that Kim Tate might soon vacate her longtime residence at Home Farm as the new proprietors’ identities come to light.
SHome Farm is synonymous with the drama of Emmerdale and its fiery resident, Kim Tate, portrayed by Claire King. Kim’s life has been a whirlwind of turmoil lately after she recently discovered Rose Jackson’s (Christine Tremarco) scheme to undermine her.
Rose, who arrived at Emmerdale this year, seemed to be seeking reconciliation with her separated family, including her daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley).
The plot thickened when it was discovered that Rose was secretly collaborating with Ruby (Beth Cordingly) in a concerted effort to bring down Kim. Despite these machinations, Kim unmasked Roses ploy and subsequently banished her from the village, unaware of Rose’s tryst with Kim’s former husband, now spouse, Will (Dean Andrews).
However, things took an unexpected turn when Rose disappeared – with Kim and Will thinking either one of them murdered Rose. The truth came out though that Rose was alive, with daughter Dawn fuming after finding out about Will’s lies. As a result, she and Billy (Jay Kontzle) moved out of the Home Farm.
The intrigue deepens for Will, now receiving mysterious threats demanding hush money related to his secret fling with Rose. This intimidating campaign commenced with a seemingly innocuous bouquet and a grave message: “I know what you did.”
In the midst of ongoing Emmerdale intrigue, speculations are rife that Kim might put her cherished Home Farm on the market and eagle-eyed fans believe they’ve sniffed out the new proprietor. A member of the soap’s Facebook fan group suggested: “I read somewhere that Kim puts home farm up for sale and it ends up with an unlikely new owner.”
Debate amongst the fans promptly erupted, many suggesting that Joe Tate (played by Ned Porteous) could be the surprise buyer. Kim used to be married to Joe’s granddad, Frank Tate, which made her Joes step-grandmother.
The character vanished from the show six years ago after being forced to flee; Kim had tasked Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) to dispose of Joe as he squandered her funds. Joe evaded his grim fate and has been on the lam.
Only in March 2019 did Kim discover Joe was very much alive and living in Monte Carlo. Fans online have hinted that Joe could return, reclaiming Home Farm stealthily through a lawyer. One remarked: “Isn’t Joe Tate coming back. Perhaps he buys it with a solicitor doing all the work to keep it hush.”
A second hoped: “Ohh hope he does come back I could see it happening as well.” And a third confidently: “It’s Joe Tate!!”
