Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) – probably the calmest member of the Dingle clan – shocked us all with her outburst in Emmerdale.

The beloved character joined her family in tonight’s episode to say goodbye to Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell), who died at the start of this week.

As expected, Lydia ensured she was around to support her emotional loved ones, but couldn’t help ensure Zak’s casket was dust-free and Mandy (Lisa Riley) fixed her ironing skills.

Zak’s body was moved from Scotland to the village courtesy of Sam and Cain (Jeff Hordley). In the morning, the villagers gathered in the Woolpack to raise a glass to Zak, with his coffin in the centre of the boozer.

The Dingles then moved Zak from the pub up to the Dingle land, where he requested to be buried.

Just as Marlon (Mark Charnock) contemplated what to say in front of the family, things took a sudden turn when Tina Dingle (Samantha Power) returned.

The character – last seen 28 years ago – said she was back to say goodbye to her dad, but the other Dingles believed she didn’t have a right to attend the funeral, given the lack of effort she made to stay in their lives.

A while later, Mandy found pictures of Wishing Well on Tina’s phone. The loud-mouthed character reckoned she was entitled to a part of the home, given she’s one of Zak’s children.

She then turned to Lydia. Discovering she’s Sam’s wife, Tina wondered what on earth she saw in her brother.

Angry and wound up, Lydia retaliated by pushing Tina into a massive pile of mud, and what a moment it was.

After threatening her over Sam, Lydia confirmed that in Zak’s will, he left Wishing Well to Belle, Cain and Sam, meaning Tina wasn’t getting anything.

Tina’s outburst was then interrupted due to the arrival of the police. They had come to take Tina away after revealing she had broken the rules surrounding her ankle tag.

The former resident walked away but told the Dingles that ‘this’ isn’t over – which means she’ll probably be back soon.
