Major Emmerdale exit as show icon leaves after 13 years
It was revealed in earlier this year that actress Daisy Campbell is hanging up Amelia Spencer’s puffer jacket ready for pastures new, and now her full Emmerdale exit has been revealed.
Though the actress confessed that the decision to leave was not hers and was ‘a shock at first’, she shared with Metro that it’s the right time for her onscreen counterpart as she no longer has any ties to the village.
Amelia has been embroiled in a domestic abuse triangle, which has seen her for months being manipulated by Tom King (James Chase) into defending him and playing a part in his awful charade against Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper).
His hold over her began as psychological, but it eventually became physical, just like with Belle.
But Tom was finally caught when the damning video evidence of his abuse was found on his tablet, and Amelia realised how she too had become entrapped by his lies.
As it’s all now come to light, Amelia has been facing the shame of her compliance – even daubing ‘scum’ on the Kings’ front door in a bid to shift her own hatred for herself.
Tom is behind bars, Amelia has refused contact, and now there’s nothing left for her in the village. With boyfriend, her dad, and her baby daddy behind bars, now is a good time to exit.
Amelia packs her bag and preps baby Esther to head off for a fresh start.
