Major Emmerdale exit ‘confirmed’ as star leaves after a year
After almost a year, Ella Forster (Paula Lane) is reportedly set to leave the Emmerdale village.
Paula – best known for playing Kylie in Coronation Street – made her arrival on the ITV soap in January of this year.
Ella was introduced during a gala event that Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) attended. After leaving her job, Ella arrived in the village and joined the team at the surgery as their receptionist.
It was working there that saw Ella develop a connection with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson). The two characters spent time together and even went on a few dates, but suspicion started to increase due to Ella occasionally acting strangely around her new love interest and friends like Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).
We eventually learnt that Ella was hiding a massive secret about her past. She would regularly visit a lady called June in a care home, who turned out to be the mother of a girl that Ella killed when she was a child.
When her past was exposed, Ella eventually came to accept her new friends in the village wanted her around. This was a rarity, given Ella would move from place to place after residents found out her murderous secret.
Sadly though, while Ella has settled into the Dales, that potentially won’t last much longer, as she looks set to depart.
On Paula Lane’s acting Spotlight page, her description features the line ‘Currently appearing as series regular Ella in Emmerdale ITV filming until February 2025.’
Emmerdale had no comment to make when approached by Metro.
Just how Ella will leave the Emmerdale village remains to be seen, but it could well have something to do with Liam and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who initially chose to keep their relationship a secret to prevent Ella from getting hurt.
Unable to live in the same place as her ex and his new girlfriend, will Ella pack her bags and once again search for a place to begin her new life?
Will this tragic character ever find happiness?
