Not John. Not Ella. Then WHO? Emmerdale Viewers Spot Hidden Clue About Liam’s Attacker!
After one of the villagers began investigating the mysterious disappearance of Nate Robinson (played by Gurell Carter), it seems that Jon Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) might have finally met his match – and in the most unexpected person.
As viewers know, there has been much speculation about Nate’s whereabouts. The farmhand had been ignoring calls and texts from his loved ones. According to Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), the distance stemmed from a supposed falling out with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) before Nate left for Shetland.
Fans will remember that Cain accused Nate of reigniting an affair with Moira (Natalie J. Robb), which Cain refused to believe was false. Cain attacked Nate in a fit of rage. Tracy, who had recently given Nate a second chance, then cut him off completely. Heartbroken, Nate left for a new job at a wind farm in Shetland – but he never returned.
In a shocking twist, flashbacks last week revealed that Jon was responsible for Nate’s d.e.a.t.h. Jon has what appears to be a hero complex – he creates dangerous situations just so he can step in and “save the day.” But things went wrong with Nate. The farmhand d.i.e.d, and Jon disposed of his body in a frozen lake to cover his tracks.
Since then, fans have been theorizing who will uncover the truth and bring Jon down.
In Monday’s episode (now streaming on ITVX), a potential hero emerged: Tracy. She’s shown seriously considering finding Nate. Meanwhile, Jon spent much of the episode trying to hide his role in the burial of another victim, Anthony (Nicholas Day), whose body he also secretly buried.
Struggling financially and desperate to support her daughter Frankie, Tracy had resorted to stealing from Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell). But after regaining her job at the shop, she vowed to turn things around. Encouraged by her new friend Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), Tracy begins researching wind farms in Shetland online, hoping to track down Nate and get financial support from him.
But what if she discovers that Nate never made it to Shetland?
Her investigation could trigger a chain of events that exposes Jon and brings him down once and for all.
According to upcoming spoilers, next week promises a rollercoaster of drama across all three soaps. Over in Emmerdale, Jon Sugden’s web of lies begins to unravel. Meanwhile, a returning villain shocks a local in Coronation Street, and in EastEnders, a veteran character makes a life-changing decision after a medical diagnosis.
Back in Emmerdale, Jon faces a serious problem as the truth about Aiden Moore threatens to surface. Victoria Sugden, Jon’s sister, discovers a shocking secret after trying to track down Jon’s old army friends for his wedding to Aaron Dingle.
Victoria is told Aiden d.i.e.d long ago – but then she meets Connor, who reveals that Aiden is actually in a coma at a military hospital. Devastated, Victoria rushes to Aiden’s bedside and realizes Jon has been lying all along. She confronts him, leaving Jon rattled and terrified. How will he talk his way out of this one? Is Victoria in danger?
Fans have already started worrying about Aaron Dingle. His instincts about Jon have proven correct. Though Jon and Aaron are engaged, viewers always felt something was off – and flashbacks confirmed it.
Jon’s manipulation has ranged from tampering with Chas’s medication, to hiding Jacob’s EpiPen and sending him into anaphylactic shock just so he could be seen as a hero. In a chilling reveal, Nate’s final moments were shown: after the barn fire, Jon “tried” to save Nate but ended up k.i.l.l.i.n.g him. He then chained Nate’s body and dumped it in the lake.
In the episode from Monday, April 14, Steph believed Anthony might still be alive and dug up the grave Jon claimed he was buried in – only to find it empty. Jon tried to cover his tracks but was soon confronted by the others.
Aaron, seeing through Jon’s lies, became visibly disturbed and called him out for playing the hero. Fans took to social media in droves. One Reddit user commented, “Aaron’s catching on – Jon always needs to be the hero.” A Facebook viewer added, “I’m worried for Aaron – he’s going to get hurt.”
