There was a great deal of progress in Ella Forster’s (Paula Lane) storyline in Thursday’s (May 23) Emmerdale as we discovered one of the many secrets she is hiding from her friends in the village.
This week, Ella moved into Liam Cavanagh’s (Jonny McPherson) house after Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) discovered she had been sleeping in her car.
As Ella sorted through some bits and pieces, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) arrived to help her friend.
When Mandy picked up a photograph, Ella realised what she was doing and snatched it away. The image featured two young girls smiling – one had red hair, and the other had black curly hair.
And before you ask, it has absolutely fuelled our theory she is connected to Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).
Anyways.
In the latest instalment of the ITV soap, Ella spent the day away from the Dales at a care home.
When Ella arrived, she entered the room of a lady called June Phillips.
The scenes involving Ella and June were sweet but full of mystery. Ella loved looking through June’s photo album, and was kind and understanding when, moments later, June requested to look through it again because she had forgotten the first time.
A little while later, Ella returned to the room with a small drink for June.
The lady – who has dementia – then asked if they were ‘once very sad about something’. Ella said they were, but they got through it in the end.
After the intriguing comments, Ella confronted Manpreet, who was visiting the care home as well and had spotted her colleague with June.
Ella accused Manpreet of following her and said Liam and Mandy were all working together on something.
As they returned home, Manpreet tried to get Ella to open up about June but she refused. Ella said that June is ‘the most important thing’ to her and whatever time she’s got left with her, it’s time she never thought she’d get.
Ella called her connection with June ‘deep and private’ and Manpreet respected that. When Manpreet left the vehicle, Ella was left alone – and she completely sobbed.
So, who is June Phillips to Ella, and what happened in their life that made the duo ‘very sad’?
Unfortunately, Ella’s time with June will run out in the coming days, as previous pictures have shown the newcomer at June’s funeral.
