Proposal addicted Ian calls for major EastEnders couple to be married
Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) stuns son Peter (Thomas Law) with a suggestion for his future in EastEnders next week.
Viewers of the BBC soap recently saw the soap stalwart took a massive step in his relationship with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) when he popped the question in the Queen Vic.
He went to quite the effort to make the proposal special after Cindy’s complaints that he wasn’t very romantic, even calling in a barbershop quartet to serenade her.
Cindy didn’t hesitate as she accepted Ian’s proposal, despite the fact that two of her exes and Junior Knight, the man she’s been having an affair with, were surrounding her.
Typical Cindy behaviour.
In upcoming scenes, he’s inspired by his own proposal and prompts Peter to do the same.
Peter has had a turbulent time with girlfriend Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) of late, following her injuries sustained in the Peggy’s club crush.
With the pain medication not helping her, she headed to the GP in the hope that they could offer her a stronger dosage.
Later, Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) suggested that her symptoms could be caused by pregnancy – and a test confirmed that Lauren was indeed expecting.
Knowing that her agony was set to continue, she stole cousin Amy’s (Ellie Dadd) liquid m.o.r.p.h.i.n.e and began to swig it from the bottle.
Noticing her odd behaviour, Peter became concerned and accused her of hitting the bottle again. Lauren was outraged, and decided to bin the morphine to prove she was clean.
Cindy had other ideas – and began supplying her with d.r.u.g.s. As we’ll see next week, the offer of more pills lies on the table but she manages to resist the temptation.
When her symptoms worsen, Peter takes her to the hospital fearing that their baby could be at risk.
