Ruby crumbles under pressure following Anthony’s m.u.r.d.e.r in Emmerdale
Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) might be d.e.a.d, but he’s still tormenting Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) in Emmerdale.
After weeks of being overbearing, of gaslighting, and of psychologically torturing Ruby, the truth started to surface that Anthony was a nasty, evil, s.e.x.u.a.l abuser.
The penny dropped for Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) after a DNA test confirmed Caleb (William Ash) is not Steph’s (Georgia Jay) dad and in Caleb trying to find out who is instead, Chas realised it was Ruby’s own father.
Chas later blabbed to Nicola and Laurel what a bad man Anthony is after learning that he was privately tutoring vulnerable Angel one on one. Just as things were unravelling fast for evil Anthony, he turned up d.e.a.d.
Viewers know that he was shot, but as far as the village is concerned, Anthony upped and disappeared. His car has gone, for one thing. Steph is beside herself and is convinced her parents had something to do with his sudden disappearance, taking her frustration out on them.
Caleb tries to assure her that Anthony has always been a flake, but for Ruby, this is all far too much. She begins to crumble under the weight of what she knows, and her nerves are utterly fried.
Ruby’s on the verge of another devastating spiral. Can Caleb save her from herself?
Unfortunately for her, the bad news doesn’t stop there. Chas has a confession for her new bestie – she told Nicola what a bad man he is.
Ruby throws a fit and demands Chas retract what she’s said to protect Steph, who doesn’t know who her granddad really is. Chas does what’s asked of her, leaving Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and Laurel flummoxed.
Little does Chas know; the two women are still harbouring their secret that they battered Anthony with a candlestick before his eventual d.e.a.t.h and believe his disappearance is down to them.
So, to learn that he may not have been a child abuser after all leaves them in quite the quandary.
They pretend Chas’ admission is a relief but in reality, it’s anything but. Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) now believes she needs to do the right thing and go to the police. Will she inadvertently seal her fate as Anthony’s suspected m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r?
