Shock in Walford: Car Crash Victim ‘Confirmed’ by Fans as Beloved Character Faces Axe
EastEnders fans were left in shock last night as the soap posted a rare trailer of a car veering off into the lake and fans think they've 'worked out' which resident is in danger
There’s dramatic scenes to come in EastEnders in the coming weeks as the soap posted a horror car crash trailer. In the snippet, posted on social media, fans saw a car flying off a bridge and falling into a body of water.
Remaining mysterious as ever, the trailer didn’t reveal who was in the car – but from a series of clues throughout the year, fans think they may have worked it out.
Although it’s not yet known whether there will be another d.e.a.t.h in the soap, there will certainly be danger for at least one character, as the caption of the video reads: “Who’s in danger? #EastEnders – Coming soon…”
Of course, fans rushed to the comments to speculate who would be in the car, and one name kept cropping up.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Felix Baker had been axed from the show after almost three years. Fans were left outraged at the news, claiming his character’s journey was only just getting started. Now, some think he may finally be getting the big storyline he deserves.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: “Felix. He’s being written out,” as another penned: “Isn’t Felix leaving?”
However, going off that theory – other fans were concerned it would be Stacey Slater, as actress Lacey Turner recently announced she’d be taking an extended break from the show, with many fearing for Stacey’s mental health after Martin Fowler’s tragic d.e.a.t.h.
Others had different theories all together – with some believing “It’s definitely a Mitchell” as Nicola and Teddy Mitchell have been embroiled in the shocking d.e.a.t.h of their son Harry’s girlfriend Shireen.
The trailer comes after a highly dramatic year in the soap. The start of the year saw the BBC show celebrate their 40th anniversary – although there were no celebrations in Albert Square.
The highly anticipated live show saw the d.e.a.t.h of beloved character Martin Fowler – with the residents still grieving months later. Will this storyline mark the second tragic d.e.a.t.h of the year?
More recently, fans were stunned as Cindy Beale revealed a video of her former mother-in-law Kathy kissing Harvey during his engagement celebrations with Jean at the Queen Vic.
Fans were left gobsmacked at the episode, which they compared to one that would air on Christmas Day. Some drew similarities to the exposure of Stacey and Max’s affair during the 2007 Christmas Day episode.
With another dramatic storyline on the horizon, who will be in danger and will they survive?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
