Ruby and Caleb rush to prevent Steph from going under the knife
In Emmerdale spoilers for next week, Ruby and Caleb face a race against time to stop Steph undergoing plastic surgery. She wants to change the shape of her nose to change her resemblance to abusive Anthony. But can her parents talk her out of it?

Steph’s whole world has been turned upside down by the revelation that Anthony was her birth father. The man who she adored and called grandad was in fact a predatory monster who repeatedly raped and abused her mum, Ruby.
Even though she knows Anthony is d.e.a.d and buried – although we only have John Sugden‘s word for it – Steph can’t get him out of her head. Every time she looks in the mirror she sees Anthony staring back at her. Steph has now decided the only way to rid her resemblance to Anthony is by having a nose job.
Knowing Caleb and Ruby wouldn’t approve, Steph has made a secret appointment with a clinic and is ready to go ahead.
Caleb and Ruby make a shocking discovery
With a date for her surgery set, Steph suddenly starts to feel more positive about the future. Ruby and Caleb are buoyed to see her in better spirits and hope Steph has finally turned a corner.
Steph then tells her parents she’s off on holiday, to hide the truth. Although Caleb and Ruby are shocked to realise she’s going away, they give their blessing and say their goodbyes.
Next day, Caleb’s stomach drops when he tries to trace the fake flight number Steph gave him and realises it doesn’t exist. A quick search through Steph’s laptop reveals her true whereabouts as Caleb and Ruby find a string of emails from the plastic surgery clinic.
Steph refuses to back down in Emmerdale spoilers
With no time to lose, Ruby and Caleb make a frantic dash towards the clinic.
The couple burst into the consultation room and find Steph in a hospital gown, with her surgeon making his final preparations. Relieved to have got there just in time, Ruby and Caleb plead with Steph to reconsider her decision, insisting surgery is not the way to fix her pain.
However, despite their best efforts, Steph is adamant no one can talk her out of this. She’s going to have this surgery, no matter what.
Can Ruby and Caleb find another way to get through to their tormented offspring? Or will Steph still go under the knife?
