Suki makes discovery in EastEnders that rocks her to the core
Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) makes a shocking realisation about youngster Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) in EastEnders next week.
Avani has suffered a troubling few months in the wake of being strip searched at the police station.
She had been carted in alongside friends Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) and Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), who were suspected of carrying drugs.
While the other girls were allowed to return home, Avani was less than cooperative and officers decided to subject her to a dehumanising search.
In the weeks that have followed, she has turned to drink and drugs, much to the concern of her family.
She’s also struck up a relationship with newcomer Joel Marshall (Max Murray), with the pair eventually sleeping together.
This is without her knowing that he has an obsession with pornography, and has made comments about wanting to replicate the videos with her.
The pair were caught in the act by his dad Ross (Alex Walkinshaw) and Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) in today’s episode.
We also know that Joel will secretly record himself having sex with Avani, and show the footage to friend Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).
In next week’s scenes, Ross and Vicki are deeply worried about Joel’s behaviour.
Vicki encourages her partner to have an awkward conversation with Avani’s parents Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) about their discovery.
Instead, he decides to chat to Avani – with Suki watching over there clandestine chat from afar.
She’s suspicious of why a grown man would be talking to her granddaughter, and even more so when the two both give conflicting reasons for their conversation.
With nowhere left to turn, Vicki admits the truth.
Suki tries to make a breakthrough with Avani by speaking to her about it, but she’s appalled that she wants to discuss her sex life and darts off.
Later, Suki corners Priya instead and decides to come clean. Little do the women realise, Ravi has overheard everything and isn’t happy.
Seeing red, he races over to the Watts residence to confront Joel, and a fight ensues with Ross.
