Viewers of EastEnders think they have worked out what Sonia Fowler’s dad Terry Cant is really up to.
Ahead of actress Natalie Cassidy’s exit from the BBC soap after decades, her character was stunned this week when her long-lost father Terry showed up. Sonia’s sister Bianca Jackson was concerned about his true agenda, but Sonia was keen to get to know him.
Terry revealed he was only staying for a short while before leaving for Bali, telling his daughter to go with him. Sonia was left coming to the decision to leave Walford for good on Wednesday night, ahead of her exit from the show.
But with her considering fleeing with her dad, fans were worried about the whole thing and they weren’t the only one. Bianca told everything to her mother Carol Jackson over the phone, and Terry soon found out.
Terry began spewing insults at the pair and the whole family, suggesting she was trying to ruin their reunion. An altercation took place and it ended with Terry grabbing Bianca by the arm and hurting her.

With Bianca set to tell Sonia about the attack, it remains to be seen who Sonia believes and if she will leave with Terry. But fans think the scenes have proven Terry is “dodgy” and that he is hiding something.
They don’t believe he wants to get to know Sonia at all, and could be using her. Might he have a hidden agenda for reuniting with her or for being in Walford amid his plan to flee?
Viewers now suspect that he is up to no good and could be using Sonia to hide behind as he might be on the run. Others think he is planning something dodgy, and is hiding out in Walford while he carries out said plan – or perhaps he’s after Dot Cotton’s house, owned by Sonia.
One viewer said on social media: “I think he’s got an ulterior motive and is cashing in on the whole Reiss thing.” Another fan said: “I think that boat is full of drugs.”

A third viewer posted: “I think he’s on the run and using Sonia as bait,” as a fourth wrote: “Probably after her house.” A fifth fan said: “I think the phone call about it not two weeks means Sonia’s house not the boat.. I think he’s very dodgy.”
Natalie Cassidy announced she was leaving EastEnders for the “very final” time in January, saying: “After another 11 solid years back on the square, I have decided it’s time to move on to pastures new. EastEnders is in my bones so I will never forget where I started my career and I will continue to love the show.
“Thank you to [executive producer] Chris Clenshaw for the opportunity to be such a big part of the 40th anniversary – it’s an honour. See you, Sonia, going but never forgotten.”
