The EastEnders moment Cindy faces the music in new Christmas trailer as affair is exposed
EastEnders has offered a glimpse of the chaos to come in its annual Christmas special, with all hell is set to break loose as Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) is exposed.
The BBC One soap is no stranger when it comes to dramatic scenes over the festive season, having garnered something of a reputation for the carnage that ensues in Walford on Christmas Day.
As the new trailer demonstrates, the season of good will and festive cheer will take a devastating turn and the chaos begins when Cindy comes to realise that incriminating evidence of her affair has fallen into the wrong hands.
Several residents have grudges against her; from Lauren Branning(Jacqueline Jossa), who Cindy has been supplying with d.r.u.g.s, to Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), who has never been a fan of the troublemaker.
But who is blackmailing her?
That is the question and it won’t be long before she finds out for herself, with the truth set to explode at The Vic, with both the Beales and the Knights present to witness the devastation.
Will Ian be able to forgive Cindy for this? Or has she well and truly burned her bridges? And just what will the future hold for Junior?
Can George (Colin Salmon) get past such a horrifying betrayal?
It’s not just the Beales and the Knights that will experience heartache this holiday season, as Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) reliance on alcohol spirals out on control in the build up to Christmas Day, as seen in Wednesday’s (December 11) offering of the show.
Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) returns from honeymoon to see her daughter in such a state and issues her with an ultimatum, with Linda ultimately choosing the booze.
A night of dangerous and destructive alcohol abuse ensues in a very special episode, set to air this Monday (December 16).
It’s safe to say that this Christmas season is shaping up to be one to remember!
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
