EMMERDALE fans have shared their views on the characters soap bosses should NEVER have killed off – including Carl King and Faith Dingle.
The ITV soap has seen some big characters come and go over the years, and some departures left viewers particularly devastated.
In a Reddit post, an Emmerdale viewer wrote: “What’s one character they should have never killed off ?”
A fellow fan replied: “Faith (or at least some time after)- it would’ve been great to see her with the Miligans.
“Heath- I think having him be in a coma would’ve told the same story. We never got to see him develop or have a SL.
“Liv (although the actress wanted to leave and it wouldn’t have made much sense for her to have left Vinny so soon after marrying him).”
A fellow fan agreed, writing: “Faith. Loved her and it would have been great to see how she would have reacted to Caleb.”
Another viewer wrote: “Rishi, 100% best character and he had a lot more comedy in him.
“I don’t know if [actor] Bhasker decided to leave or was written out but his absence is notable.”
Meanwhile someone else shared: “Carl king as he had so much more to give.”
Another viewer responded: “Carl was just brilliant the whole king clan was and is probably top five highest family storylines etc there just tho at good as a whole and brought some of the best storylines of the show’s history.”
Emmerdale fans also lamented the departure of Viv Hope, with one writing: “Especially in such a low key manner for what should have been dramatic and devastating.”
Another added: “Yes she was the longest serving female character at the time one of the few pre-plane crash.
“Plus she’d have plenty of material now with Cathy, Donna’s death, Heath’s death and being April (and probably Elliot’s) grandma.”
