Tom draws blood in Emmerdale as he resorts to violence to sabotage Belle’s career
Tom King (James Chase) resorted to dark and desperate measures in Wednesday’s (March 20) episode of Emmerdale as he tried to sabotage Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor-Draper) first day at her new job.
This week, Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) spoke to Tom about a new opportunity at Take a Vow for Belle.
When Suzy approached Belle and mentioned the job, she pretended Tom had forgotten to pass on the message to her. Of course Tom did no such thing because the last thing he wants is for Belle to get a new job that would make her even less likely to want to start child-bearing instead.
Belle didn’t say anything to Suzy about Tom not passing on the message, but when Tom returned she was angry with him and told him it wasn’t fair on her to go around saying no to things on her behalf.
Tonight, Belle was very much looking forward to her first day with Suzy but when Tom found out, he was wound up.
Outside, as Suzy and Belle met the wedding client, Tom was listening to their conversation. Growing annoyed at not having complete control over Belle, Tom decided he needed to do something.
At the vets, after seeing Vinny (Bradley Johnson) with his dog Chip, Tom grabbed a scalpel and deliberately cut his hand. He phoned Belle and told her to get to the vets asap, but wasn’t expecting her to bring Liam (Jonny McPherson) to check the injury as well.
When they arrived, Belle was a little surprised to see the cut on Tom’s hand was actually tiny. Just as Liam left, Tom asked Belle to dress the wound but she outright said no. Belle was furious Tom had made her rush over during her first day at work, called him a baby, and then left.
Tom’s behaviour gradually got worse throughout the episode. After inflicting the injury on himself, Tom took a different approach and visited Take a Vow with flowers and chocolates.
But that didn’t work either.
Belle stood up, accepted the gifts but reminded Tom the behaviour was – once again – completely inappropriate.
Tom then targetted the man who Suzy and Belle spent the day with. Outside the office, Tom spotted them talking, approached the client’s shiny green car and keyed the side of it.
He then found the gentleman and lied to him about Take a Vow’s awful reputation. Tom said that Leyla (Roxy Shahidi), the owner, was previously using client’s money to feed her cocaine addiction.
The husband-to-be was horrified and later, Belle and Suzy discovered he was no longer interested.
All that was left for Tom to do was comfort Belle, who feared losing her job after a terrible first day.
Tom said he will always be there for Belle and hugged her, satisfied his horrific and abusive behaviour has once again put him back in control of his wife.
