Recent Emmerdale scenes have seen Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) bravely open up about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Tom King (James Chase), but sadly the villain is a step ahead.

With Belle having opened up to cousin Charity (Emma Atkins) and brother Cain (Jeff Hordley), they had agreed to support her whenever she decided to go to the police.

Having watched Cain walk away from the conversation with Belle and Charity, Tom began to suspect that Belle had spoken out, and took matters into his own hands.

With Belle staying with Charity, Tom saw an opportunity to go back to the house they used to share and take down the cameras he had installed to spy on her – therefore removing any evidence.

Back at home, he told Jimmy King (Nick Miles) that Belle had been spreading lies about him by telling her family that he had been hurting her.

Viewers will know that Belle is telling the truth, with Tom having previously hit her and scolded her hand under boiling water.

However, Jimmy was quick to take Tom’s side, and later confronted Belle about her ‘lies’ when she attempted to speak with Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell).

As Jimmy insisted that Belle was trying to hurt Tom because she was jealous about his relationship with Amelia, Cain overheard the conversation and leapt to his sister’s defence.

When Jimmy continued to demand that Belle take back her claims, Cain grabbed him by the collar and warned him to leave her alone.

Shaken, Jimmy backed off, as Cain guided Belle away.

With Jimmy having taken Tom’s side, will this put Belle off coming forward about her abuse, or will she find the courage to speak out?
