Two Emmerdale legends stage huge returns – and they’re not happy at all

Kim Tate (Claire King) and Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) returned to Emmerdale tonight – and neither of them were happy once they caught up with the latest village drama.

Young Arthur has been away travelling in Australia. While he’s been enjoying himself, he’s also been away for Laurel’s (Charlotte Bellamy) heart attack and the breakdown of her and Jai’s (Chris Bisson) marriage.

When he walked through the door of Mulberry Cottage tonight, Arthur got quite a shock when he interrupted Gabby (Rosie Bentham) and Vinny (Bradley Johnson) kissing. Their relationship was another thing Arthur missed, so suffice to say he was very surprised to see them together.

Arthur then turned his attention to mum Laurel. Worried about her stress levels in case she had another heart attack, Arthur decided to go and see Jai.

The character did manage to make Jai feel bad when he said he thought he cared about the family. A while later, in The Hide, Arthur then confronted Jai again but this time, he took a different approach.

Arthur warned Jai and told him if he didn’t back off with selling their house, he would regret it. Despite the fact Arthur is only just reaching adulthood, his words seemed to have an impact on Jai.

But will they really be enough to get him to back off?

Elsewhere, up at Home Farm, Kim was finally back after spending the past few weeks in Dubai.

Just like Arthur, Kim had a lot to catch up on – and it largely involved Will (Dean Andrews) telling her about Dawn’s (Olivia Bromley) involvement in Rose’s (Christine Tremarco) disappearance.

Once she had moved past her shock, Kim made it clear to Will that while he wasn’t back in her good books, she didn’t want their difficult dynamic to continue.

Kim asked Will once and for all if he had anything else to tell her regarding Rose. Will covered and said no – which is obviously a lie.

That evening, Will received a delivery of a bouquet of roses. The card inside read ‘I know what you did’, of course hinting at the fact someone know Will and Rose kissed.

When Kim entered the kitchen, Will hid the card and told her the roses were him ‘trying too hard’ and handed them over.

Will is desperate to move past the ordeal with Rose but judging by this card, someone isn’t going to let him do that.

But who knows Will’s secret?
