Tyler Perry’s House of Payne | Season 14 Episode 5 Review: House of Tough Decisions

…literally not even in your house that much, CJ. So, what are you mad about? That whole scene just felt forced—like they needed CJ to blow up about something to create drama, but it didn’t make sense given what we know about his character. Jasmine is clearly dealing with some emotional stuff, and instead of being the usually supportive father figure, CJ just turned into an angry dad stereotype with no nuance. It was disappointing.

And then Janine… look, I know they’ve been trying to make her this new, more grounded version of herself, but the way she handled Jasmine’s situation with Jackson was way too soft. It felt like the writers forgot everything Jackson already did to Jasmine, like slandering her online and jeopardizing her academic standing. That’s huge! But the way this episode plays it, you’d think he just didn’t return her texts for a day. It’s insulting to viewers who actually pay attention to continuity.

It’s like the whole episode was written by someone who got a quick summary of what happened last season and just went from there. All the emotional weight and nuance? Gone. All the character growth we thought we were seeing in Jasmine? Ignored. And Jackson? Still a jerk, but now we’re supposed to buy that Jasmine should maybe consider forgiving him because… what, he showed up and looked

Nah. This whole episode just felt like a massive backslide for everyone involved. Instead of moving storylines forward or giving characters new dimensions, it recycled old conflicts without any of the depth that made them compelling in the first place. And the Curtis/Floyd/QA plot? Yeah, it might go somewhere later, but right now it just feels like déjà vu from Curtis’s usual ego trips, only now with a new shady investor pullin

Bottom line? Two out o is gener

Anyway, that’s my rant. If you watched it, I’d love to know what you thought. Did you see anything in this episode that worked for you? Or were you just as frustrated as I was?

Let me know in the comments. Peace.
