Tyler Perry’s House of Payne | Will The Series End With Calvin & Miranda Remarried?

I’ve been pretty vocal on the channel about my thoughts on Calvin and Miranda getting back together—and honestly, I don’t think they should.

Sure, you could argue that both of them have shown some growth in how they carry themselves compared to when they were married. But let’s be real—there have been way too many hijinks, betrayals, and questionable decisions to just sweep things under the rug and say, “Let’s try again.”

Now don’t get me wrong—they’re great co-parents. I’ll give them that. And I want to say Calvin has matured… but has he really? This man cheated on Laura not once, but twice. That doesn’t exactly scream, “I’ve changed.”

Remember when he kissed Mercedes? Yeah. That wasn’t a good look either.

Still, I can’t deny—it would be fitting to end the series on this note.

And hey, let me be honest—House of Payne is thriving on the channel right now. These numbers? This is what Sistas used to do for me. So when Season 9 drops in a few months, I’ll probably be reviewing it. And I’d be surprised if any Sistas video outperforms House of Payne the way things are going—like 20,000 to 30,000 views per video!

The only kind of Sistas video I could see blowing up like that would be something wild—like if the baby Zach’s raising turns out not to be his, or even dies. Yeah, I said it.

Now, let’s talk about the original ending. The series originally wrapped at the end of Season 8—can’t remember the exact year. But I do remember the last scene: Miranda tells Calvin she wants a divorce, packs her bags, walks out, and Calvin throws a vase at the door. It shatters. The camera pans to the broken pieces. Fade to black. Boom—end of marriage, end of series.

So fast forward, you’d expect Calvin to be planning a big wedding with Laura, right?

Nope. That’s not what we’re getting.

Instead, through one twist after another, it looks like Calvin and Miranda are headed back to the altar. And honestly, everyone and their mama saw this coming.

At one point, I even threw out a curveball on the channel: What if they mirrored the old series finale? Remember when CJ and Janine got remarried alongside Calvin and Miranda?

Well, what if this time we get two weddings again—but with a twist? Imagine Calvin and Miranda tying the knot… and Malik and Lisa getting married in the same ceremony.

Or how about another curveball: CJ and Janine renewing their vows? It would be a powerful way to wrap up their recent storyline about poor communication and bring their love story full circle.

Think about it: one new couple (Malik and Lisa), one reunited couple (Calvin and Miranda), and one longtime couple reaffirming their bond (CJ and Janine). That would be a pretty poetic, feel-good ending.

Now, we don’t need that for Curtis and Ella—they already had their vow renewal in the backyard a couple of seasons ago.

But still—imagine this finale. Everyone hitting the “reset” button in their relationships, finding love again, and moving forward with hope.

That’s the kind of ending I’d tune in for.
