Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Sneak Peek: Sabrina Still Believes She’s ‘In A Relationship’ With Rich
It seems like Sistas is once again hitting the reset button. Tyler Perry has a habit of undoing any progress the characters make, and this latest sneak peek suggests that trend is continuing.
For the past two episodes, we’ve had no sneak peeks or promotional photos. But now, we finally got a clip from the bank scene—Maurice calling Sabrina, who is still at her apartment. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s only about a minute long and is available on Sistas’ social media platforms.
Sabrina’s Regression
This clip raises several red flags. First, Sabrina genuinely believes that she and Rich can still work things out. She tells Maurice about what happened—how nothing happened between her and Deanii at the work summit and how her run-in with Rich didn’t go well. She assumes that Rich just needs to cool down and that they can have a civilized conversation.
Then, there’s a knock on the door. She assumes it’s Rich coming to apologize. But when she opens the door, it’s Calvin. Maurice, shocked, exclaims, “Wait… Calvin? My Calvin? He owes me rent money!” And that’s the clip.
Why Would Rich Apologize?
Sabrina’s assumption that Rich is the one who needs to apologize is baffling. Let’s recap: The last time they spoke was when she chose herself at the restaurant. He ghosted her for an entire month—ignoring her texts and calls. When she finally confronted him at work, it didn’t go well. He made it clear he’s moving on, focusing on his dreams and goals. So, why would she think there’s still something left to salvage?
This is classic Sistas—creating unnecessary drama instead of organic character development.
The One-Month Time Skip Means Nothing
The one-month time skip feels pointless. Sabrina has reverted to the same indecisive, airheaded persona she exhibited in earlier seasons. Season 7 showed her as a determined, strong-willed woman, especially when fighting for her job. But now, she’s back to being lost in love triangles.
So, let’s break this down:
- She thinks she and Rich still have a chance—despite him making it clear he’s moving on.
- She’s also entertaining Deanii, even though we barely know anything about him.
- And now, Calvin is back in the picture.
It’s like the writers want to keep her stuck in an endless cycle of relationship drama.
Calvin’s Return—What’s the Point?
What purpose does Calvin serve in this storyline? Sabrina never truly wanted a relationship with him. Every time he asked if she wanted to be exclusive, she said no. Every time he told her he loved her, she couldn’t say it back. So, what has changed?
His return feels forced—just another attempt to drag out unnecessary drama. And if Preston returns, the same question applies: What about Danni has changed to make anyone believe she would suddenly want to be with him?
Fans have been complaining for seasons about the characters being stuck in the same old cycles. Even the cast has expressed frustration with it. And yet, here we are—revisiting old relationships instead of moving forward.
Sabrina’s Love Triangle (Or Square?)
At this point, Sabrina is juggling three men:
- Rich—who has already moved on.
- Deanii—who is still somewhat of a mystery.
- Calvin—who suddenly shows up again.
With Andy finally cutting ties with Jordan, Robin moving to London, and Gary seemingly moving on, Sabrina is now the frontrunner for the most men in her orbit. And it’s not exactly a badge of honor.
How will Calvin react to Sabrina’s whole egg donation situation? He’s always been jealous whenever another man showed interest in her. So, is this going to be another round of Calvin vs. Sabrina’s other options?
Final Thoughts
Sabrina is making things complicated for the sake of being complicated. She knows things are over with Rich, but she’s holding on to false hope. She doesn’t seem genuinely interested in Deanii but is keeping him around. And now Calvin’s back in the mix.
Meanwhile, Maurice is stuck listening to all of it.
What do you think? What does Calvin’s return mean for the story? Will he have a scene with Maurice? And how will he react to Sabrina’s current situation? Let me know your thoughts!
