Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Sneak Peek: Zac FORGETS That Fatima Is Pregnant

…to do. Then Zach actually considers it but ultimately decides against it. Fatima then steps in to handle the situation, reinforcing this repeated pattern in their dynamic.

So the big question is—why is this dynamic still being recycled after so many seasons? Why is Zach constantly written as reckless and reactionary while Fatima gets to be the level-headed, strategic thinker? At first, it made sense because Zach was still figuring things out, but by now, you’d think his character would have evolved beyond just being the impulsive “attack first, think later” type.

What’s even more frustrating is that Fatima herself has had plenty of reckless moments, yet when she does something dangerous, it’s framed as being bold and protective, whereas Zach doing something similar is portrayed as dumb and irresponsible. Like, if Precious Cargo is the reason Zach shouldn’t be violent now, why wasn’t it a factor when Fatima was out there throwing hands and making threats while supposedly pregnant?

This is where the writing starts to feel inconsistent and forced. It’s not about hating Fatima or defending Zach blindly; it’s about pointing out that their relationship dynamic has become stale and one-sided. If we’re eight seasons in and Zach is still making the same mistakes while Fatima plays the same role of “fixer,” then what’s the point of his character development?

It feels like the writers don’t actually want to let Zach grow beyond his past mistakes. Instead, they keep throwing him into the same type of situations so that Fatima can keep “saving” him, which just reinforces the power imbalance in their relationship. This could have been a great opportunity to show them actually working as a team, instead of Zach just defaulting to “fight mode” and Fatima having to shut him down.

At this point, if the writers don’t change things up, it’s going to make their whole relationship dynamic feel repetitive and predictable. And honestly, that’s a shame because when the show first introduced them, they had so much potential.
