Jasmine Slaps Andy – The Clash in Season 2
Jasmine Borders, before divorcing Gary Borders (reportedly in season 3), had an explosive moment when she discovered the affair between Andy and Gary. In Season 2, Episode 21 (“Catching Fade”), Jasmine couldn’t hold back her anger and gave Andy a thunderous slap.
What’s significant here is that Andy was fully aware Gary was married yet chose to pursue the relationship. Even though Gary repeatedly promised he’d leave his wife, Andy should have known that promises mean nothing until acted upon. Despite this, she willingly became “the other woman.”
Penelope and the Slap in Season 8
In Season 8, Episode 5, Penelope—entangled in a complex relationship with both Gary and Andy—also couldn’t contain her emotions and slapped Andy. The reason? Penelope felt utterly betrayed when Andy got back with Gary, shattering their shared plan to take him down.
From Penelope’s perspective, she didn’t just lose a trusted ally but was forced to watch as Gary—the man who caused her immense pain and the loss of her unborn child—was inexplicably forgiven.
Who’s More Justified?
It’s tough to decide between Jasmine and Penelope since both had valid reasons for their actions. Jasmine’s slap reflects the heartbreak of discovering that Andy was the direct cause of her marriage’s collapse. Meanwhile, Penelope’s anger stemmed from feelings of betrayal, especially after Andy chose Gary over their shared mission.
If we were to weigh it, Jasmine’s slap seems more “justified” because it directly confronts the pain of a broken marriage. However, Penelope’s reasons for her outrage cannot be overlooked.
Other Slaps – Who’s Still “Untouched”?
Interestingly, while Andy has been slapped twice, some other characters in the story have escaped unscathed. Karen, one of the most controversial figures, has never faced any physical punishment. Meanwhile, Danny was beaten by Jonah, and Sabrina has never been directly hit despite several heated confrontations.
