Tyler Perry's Zatima & Sistas

Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Who Is Going To Take Gary Down Once And For All?!

Gary’s Nine Lives: Has Sistas Finally Worn Us Out With His Endless Evil?

Not long after the Sistas Season 8 finale aired, Crystal (Jasmine) sat down with BET for a revealing interview. One of the juiciest tidbits? She initially believed Jasmine would be the one to bring Gary down. In fact, fun fact — back in Season 2, after that dramatic FBI raid on the farmhouse where Gary was arrested and Andy was left to walk away on foot, Crystal imagined a twist: Jasmine picking up Andy, and the two women teaming up to finally take him down. But Tyler Perry had other plans.

Now, after everything, it’s clearer than ever — Gary has to go down. Whether it’s Fatima, Madam, or someone we haven’t even met yet, his time needs to be up. It’s a shame we never got to see Penelope and Jasmine team up; that would’ve been explosive. But regardless, the fandom is reaching its limit with Gary.

Let’s be real: they dragged out the “Who stabbed Gary?” plot way too long. The suspense lost its punch. He’s nearly died half a dozen times since that stabbing, yet somehow continues to slither through the chaos unscathed. Even if he did get shot in the Season 8 finale’s final moments, does it even matter? He’ll probably live, again.

Honestly, Gary is turning into Sistas’ Veronica Harrington — someone who dishes out endless cruelty, manipulation, and evil… and somehow never pays the price. And if Veronica’s finale was any indication — where she was allegedly gunned down by two random hitmen (or was it Laura dressed as her?) — then Gary might meet a similarly anticlimactic end.

Imagine this: we get to the Sistas series finale, and Gary thinks he’s won. He’s got Andy right where he wants her, maybe even married her. He’s in his office (because we’ve never seen his house, which is suspicious), sipping a drink, smug and victorious — and bam! From the closet, from under the desk, Kim Potter rises like a ghost of vengeance and ends it all. Why not? At this point, it’d be poetic.

Because really, who else could do it?

  • Jordan? Tried and failed.

  • Penelope? Nobody’s checking for her anymore.

  • Zach and Fatima? Their hands are tied.

  • Hayden? Just no.

And even if someone does finally kill him — who cares? The show spent so much time resetting Gary (groggy memory loss? Seriously?) that any potential payoff is gone. A redemption arc would be laughable. “Oh, I don’t remember being a monster, so I’m not one anymore!” Give me a break.

If Jasmine hadn’t monologued and just pulled the damn trigger, maybe we’d be rid of him already. But no — we got another season of Gary surviving everything thrown his way. And I think I speak for most of us when I say: we’re tired.

So Tyler, if you’re listening: season 9 needs a real antagonist. Relying on Gary again? That’s not going to fly. Not with me. Not with the fans.

But I want to hear from you — do you care if Gary ever gets what’s coming to him? Or has it all become so ridiculous that even his death would just feel like another shrug-worthy moment?

Let me know in the comments.
