Tyler Perry's Zatima & Sistas

Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Why Has Fatima Been Reduced To Andi’s Guard Dog?

Is Penelopey’s Arrival Trouble for Andy? Fans Weigh In!

Wait… Penelopey is here? This can’t be good for Andy. I hope she didn’t come to start any drama. But if she did, she’ll get what’s coming to her.

Zack, didn’t you say something about all your Leila Lee moves?
“Yes, but she only does popping and waving. You know these rich white folks can’t handle that.”

Andy’s promotion has put an even bigger target on her back.
“I never really thought about it,” Andy admits.
“Well, I’m going to send your location to my phone,” Fatima says.

Fans React: Has Fatima Been Reduced to Andy’s “Guard Dog”?

Scrolling through the comments and Twitter, it’s clear that many fans feel this way. This isn’t a new complaint—it’s been brewing for a while. But after the latest episode and the promo for the finale, it seems more obvious than ever.

Some viewers are saying, “Fatima is nothing more than Andy’s guard dog!” Now, before anyone jumps in accusing me of hating women, let me be clear—I didn’t come up with that phrase. Fans have literally commented and tweeted those exact words.

One of the few highlights of the episode was when Zack told Fatima, “Hey, I just saw Penelopey. You don’t think she and Andy are going to get into something, right?” Fatima, immediately concerned, says, “Wait, Penelopey’s here?” and looks ready to rush to Andy’s side.

But then Zack stops her: “No, Andy is grown. Let her handle her own business.”

And I couldn’t agree more.

Is Fatima Overprotective?

In the promo for next week, things take an even weirder turn. Andy is suddenly kidnapped by someone hiding in her car, and Fatima warns her, “Now that you’re partner, there’s an even bigger target on your back.”

Andy looks surprised: “Wait, I never thought of it like that.”
Fatima then says, “Let me put your location in my phone so I can track you.”

Now, some might say, “Jeremy, didn’t you just point out that Fatima tracking Andy’s location turned out to be useful?” Sure. But it still feels forced and out of nowhere.

Also, let’s talk about that one-month time skip. Andy was voted managing partner a whole month ago. So why is Fatima only now bringing up the dangers of her new position? Wouldn’t that have been a conversation from day one? Especially after everything with Robin, Hayden, and the threats Andy has faced?

What Kind of Threat Is Andy Really Facing?

With Robin leaving town and Hayden on his best behavior, who exactly is this mysterious new threat?

Could it be Penelopey, coming for revenge over Jordan? Or is it Jasmine or Hudson? Either way, this whole premise feels unnecessary.

Is Andy Even a Good Friend to Fatima?

During a Twitter Space on Friday night, some fans pointed out that Fatima is way too good to Andy, while Andy doesn’t do nearly as much for her in return.

But I had to counter that argument. Does Fatima really need Andy’s help?

Unlike Andy, Fatima rarely asks for anything. In fact, she often volunteers to get involved in Andy’s mess. Andy isn’t forcing her to step in—Fatima does it because she expects drama to pop off.

So, I wouldn’t say Andy takes advantage of Fatima. It’s more like Fatima sees Andy as a little sister who needs protection, rather than Andy manipulating her.

The Breakfast Scene & Fatima’s Boundaries

Another weird moment? When Fatima didn’t want Zack having breakfast with her at work because she didn’t want it to seem like she was taking advantage of Andy’s promotion.

But that logic doesn’t track. Even before Andy was partner, Zack was always popping up—bringing lunch, picking Fatima up from work. The only time it became an issue was when they were about to kiss and Andy would step in, saying, “Don’t you have work to do?”

Which, let’s be real, was always hypocritical—especially since Andy was messing around with the owner of the law firm.

Andy’s Ego Problem

Some fans on my livestream pointed out that Andy has been acting cocky ever since she got her promotion. While I don’t blame her for what happened to Jordan and Penelopey (they landed in jail on their own), she does need to check herself.

It’s like she’s walking around with an inflated ego, and Penelopey just happened to have the needle to pop it.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, I don’t think Andy is using Fatima, but the way the show is written makes Andy look weak. Instead of developing her into a strong, independent character, they keep having Fatima run to her rescue.

That’s why I appreciated Zack shutting Fatima down this time. Andy didn’t need saving—she and Penelopey were just trading words, not fists.

But what do you think?
