Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Will Danni Accept Tony’s Proposal?

Tony’s Proposal: A Forced and Unnecessary Twist?

Tony’s impromptu proposal was met with the same reaction from Danny as it was from the fans—laughter. And honestly, who can blame her?

First of all, I wish Danny had never let Tony into her apartment. Regardless of how I feel about her victory over the airline—which, to be honest, I couldn’t care less about—there was absolutely no need for these two to interact beyond a simple, “Hey, I’ll see you at work.” Keep it cordial, keep it simple.

But no, Tony was in her apartment, admitting that he was wrong for trying to change her and failing to accept her as she is. And then, out of nowhere, he got down on one knee.

Many are wondering: is he doing this because Danny suddenly came into money? Is he after a piece of the pie? Or is there something else at play? Either way, it felt incredibly forced and completely unnecessary. We’ve seen this kind of thing before—cheap, dramatic plot twists designed to stir up social media engagement and get people talking.

A Drop in Ratings

Speaking of engagement, let’s talk numbers for a second. Ratings for Episode 21 actually dropped compared to Episode 20—not by much, but still noticeable.

  • Episode 20: 74
  • Episode 21: 71

A 4% drop might not seem like a big deal, but if this trend continues, we could be looking at one of the lowest-rated season finales yet. If it dips into the 60s, well… that would be a disaster.

And honestly, with the way things are shaping up, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Danny’s Response

Danny didn’t exactly give Tony an answer. Instead, she questioned the timing:

“Tony, don’t you think this is weird?”

She also made it clear that she doesn’t want to be in a relationship built purely on sex.

Now, this is where things get messy. At the start of the season, Danny was in a completely different place. But is this growth and development? Or just inconsistent writing?

Because let’s not forget—at the beginning of the season, after the whole police interrogation mess, Tony came to check on Danny. He wanted to talk, to make sure she was okay. Danny, on the other hand, just wanted to sleep with him.

Tony actually stopped her and said, “Rather than trying to rip my clothes off, let’s just talk. I want to make sure you’re okay.”

And what did Danny do? She blew up on him, told him to stay out of her therapy and mental health journey, and basically treated him as nothing more than a hookup. No emotional ties—just sex.

Now, suddenly, she’s the one saying she doesn’t want a relationship based on sex? Make it make sense.

A Reset in the Finale?

It looks like the finale is about to hit the reset button. Danny and Tony will probably start dating again—a move I think is a huge mistake for so many reasons.

The same could be said for Rich and Sabrina. But maybe, just maybe, the writers will surprise us. Maybe Sabrina will say no to Rich. Maybe Danny will tell Tony, “Let’s just keep things professional at work and leave it at that.”

Because honestly, there’s no reason for these two to be together.

Why Did Tony Propose?

Tony’s proposal feels completely out of nowhere. It’s like he’s trying to prove that he accepts Danny for who she is by… proposing marriage? After a month?

Yeah, okay.

Some fans even noticed that the ring looks suspiciously familiar—like the one Fatima had. If that’s true, kudos to those with sharp eyes. I, on the other hand, have mentally checked out at this point.

The only part of this scene that I actually enjoyed? When Danny threw the stuffed bear across the room and broke the lamp. Now that was funny.

Let me know your thoughts—why do you think Tony proposed?

And as always, like and subscribe. Catch you in the next one!
