Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Will New DNA Tests Show That Zac ISN’T A Match For Either of Karen’s Babies?

Zach, Karen & the Baby Twist: Why DNA Drama Might Not Be the Real Story

Okay folks, once again we’re diving into Devale Ellis’s recent interview—you know, the one where he hinted that Zach may be heading into a serious grieving process. That alone has fans speculating hard. The big theory? That Karen is going to lose the baby, and it’s going to hit Zach hard because it’s his baby.

But then came the comments section. Some viewers suggested a twist: What if the baby doesn’t actually die? What if another DNA test is taken and it turns out the baby isn’t even Zach’s in the first place? Maybe the baby is Aaron’s—or someone else’s altogether?

Now look, I get it—DNA tests can be wrong. And let’s not forget how far into the pregnancy it was before we even learned Karen was having twins. It wouldn’t be the first time a show pulled a switcheroo on us. But personally? I think that theory’s a bit of a stretch.

Here’s why: if they do redo the tests—which they probably would anyway to determine paternity per baby—and it turns out Zach isn’t the father, some fans would be cool with that. At that point, they don’t even care about the logic. They just want Zach and Karen to be done for good. And honestly? I get that.

This reminds me of when I first watched Avengers: Endgame. In that final battle scene, when Thor got both Stormbreaker and Mjölnir, I was like: “Okay, can we just pretend the dad bod’s gone and Infinity War Thor is back?” The explanation didn’t matter. It felt right.

Same deal here. If they say “Oops, Zach’s not the father,” fans might just shrug and say “Cool, whatever—let’s move on.”

But here’s the problem: we’ve been in this Karen-Zach baby mess since season 4 or 5. That’s five seasons. If they pull the “you’re not the dad” twist now, it means all that drama was for nothing. All that time and emotion? Pointless.

And this is where it gets real.
As harsh as it sounds, I think the baby passing makes more sense than a faulty DNA twist. Think about it: the DNA tests were already done. Both Zach and Aaron were tested. It was clear Zach was the father of one of the babies.

Could they pull a retest twist? Sure. But would it mean anything? Would Zach really grieve if he found out the baby wasn’t his? Maybe for a minute, sure—especially if he had just gotten emotionally attached. But deep down? I think he’d redirect that energy toward Fatima, fast.

In fact, that would set up a really solid character moment for Zach. Instead of spiraling, he could say:
“Alright, I’ve been through this storm once. I’m not doing it again. My focus is now 100% on Fatima and our baby—no more drama.”

Boom. Clean arc. Emotional payoff. And a future to look forward to.

So yeah—could they fake us out with another DNA curveball? Sure. But will they? I doubt it. A miscarriage would land harder, narratively. It would give Zach the emotional depth Devale hinted at, and it would draw a line under this never-ending storyline with Karen.

Anyway, that’s my take. Let me know what you think. Do you agree that the baby passing away makes the most sense? Or are you hoping for one last DNA twist?
