Sistas Episode 20: Zach’s Theory on Gary’s Stabber—Did He Finally Crack the Case?
One of the most frustrating parts of Sistas Episode 20—aside from the one-month time jump—was how Zach seemingly took over a month of staring at that murder board to finally put two and two together. When he called Fatima, claiming he knew who did it, she brushed him off. Then, when they finally talked, she dismissed his theory, saying Jordan was already being framed, so it didn’t matter.
But here’s the real kicker: as an audience, we never actually found out what Zach was thinking!
Breaking Down Zach’s Thought Process
Two major moments stood out in the scene where Zach had his realization:
- He repeatedly pointed at a picture of Andi.
- Then, he pointed at another picture—one of Andi and Gary sitting on a bench, kissing.
Now, if you remember, this photo was taken by Leslie, the private investigator Jasmine hired back in Season 1 when she suspected Gary of cheating. Jasmine later used that same photo, adding the caption “She stole my husband after he beat me,” and plastered it all over Atlanta, including the police station.
Zach’s reaction—“Wait a minute, I never thought of it!”—suggests that he suddenly connected the dots and realized that the real stabber might not be anyone already on the board.
Did Zach Figure Out Jasmine Was Behind It?
Some fans think Zach deduced that Hudson or Marie was responsible, but that theory doesn’t make much sense. Why would he focus on a picture of Andi and Gary if that were the case? Instead, his focus on the connection between Jasmine, Gary, and Andi suggests that he may have concluded that Jasmine was the one who stabbed Gary.
Now, does that mean Jasmine actually did it? Not necessarily. But it could fit into a larger theory—one I’ve been considering for a while.
Marie is a billionaire. She previously said she would “handle it.” What if she pulled some strings, got Jasmine out of jail, and sent her to take Gary out? The plan with Hudson would then make sense—Marie gets power of attorney over Gary’s assets, sells them for a good price, and Hudson helps clear her legal troubles. Everyone wins.
The Mysterious Hallway Scene—Was That Jasmine?
There’s also that blink-and-you-miss-it moment in the next episode when Andi turns a corner at the law firm and looks shocked to see someone standing in the hallway.
- The figure is a woman with long hair.
- At first, I thought it was Penelope, but based on the hair color, it could be Jasmine.
- If Jasmine did get out of jail, maybe she changed her look before making her next move.
