Tyler Perry’s Zatima | Was Leslie Disguising Her Voice To Trick Zac?
Did Leslie Fake Fatima’s Call?
During my Spaces session last week, someone brought up the idea that Leslie was the one who called Zach when he was in his office at Rise Ventures, talking with Connie toward the end of episode 19.
At first, I was like, No, that was Fatima. But after going back and listening a few more times, I started to see their point. People said, Jeremy, it’s 2025—there are all kinds of devices that can imitate voices. And you know what? They’re right.
With all the scams going on these days, where telemarketers can steal your voice just from you saying “yes” or “no” and then use it to open accounts in your name, nothing seems impossible anymore. Given that Leslie’s husband is in the FBI and she seems quite capable herself, it’s not too far-fetched to think she could have used some kind of app to mimic Fatima’s voice.
After rewatching not just the phone call scene but also the moment Zach gets home and goes upstairs, I started thinking. The person on the phone—let’s call her “Fatima” in air quotes—said she needed to stop by the store first before heading home. That implies she was getting something for her special night with Zach.
Now, when Zach gets home, we see rose petals leading to the bedroom. That would suggest that “Fatima” had stopped to buy flowers. But when Fatima actually arrives, she’s empty-handed and just as surprised as Zach about what’s going on.
Some people even pointed out that if you look closely, you can see Fatima’s shadow following Zach up the stairs.
When you break it all down, the theory that Leslie used an AI voice to trick Zach makes a lot of sense. The note said, Take off your clothes, don’t say anything, come upstairs—I’m waiting. It doesn’t add up for Leslie to already be there while Fatima was supposedly the one setting everything up.
So, Leslie orchestrated the entire thing. But why? That’s still unanswered.
Honestly, the Malachi and Leslie storylines didn’t even need to be in these two episodes. There was already so much going on without them. But if we focus just on the phone call theory—yeah, I’m convinced.
This reminds me of The Twilight Zone episode Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up? In that story, the diner received a call saying the bridge was safe to cross. But later, we found out it was the Martian who made the call—not the state. And everyone who crossed ended up dead.
Similarly, Leslie making this phone call to Zach seems like a setup.
I didn’t come up with this theory myself, but I totally agree with it. You got me convinced—Leslie probably used some kind of AI software to make Zach think Fatima was calling him.
What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
