Watch heartbreaking moment Mandy Dingle breaks down in tears and confesses to husband Paddy
The fan favourite character has been hiding inner turmoil relating to her family
MANDY Dingle emotionally confessed her blackmail hell to husband Paddy in heartbreaking Emmerdale scenes.
The character – played by Lisa Riley – has been blackmailed by cousin Tina Dingle (Samantha Power) since the latter returned to the village.
Tina has threatened to tell Vinny (Bradley Johnson) – Mandy’s adoptive son – that he’s actually hers biologically.
Since then, Tina’s been deliberately growing closer to Vinny – including singing his and Mandy’s favourite karaoke song.
With Paddy (Dominic Brunt) noticing something’s wrong, a distraught Mandy revealed all to her husband.
She confessed: “It’s Tina. She made me swipe Uncle Zak’s will from Wishing Well.
“Now she’s forcing me to persuade our Sammy to sell the house, so she can get her share of the money.
“She’s blackmailing me.”
Concerned about Mandy’s behaviour, Paddy probed for more information.
She continued: “She keeps saying that she’s going to tell Vinny.
“What I did to keep him when he was a kid. Tina is Vinny’s mum.”
Later, Mandy elaborated on how Tina had left Vinny behind by leaving for Ireland.
In her absence, Mandy grew attached to Vinny and couldn’t bear to give him back when she returned.
With two decades having passed, she’s concerned Vinny will hate after learning about the lies.
However, Paddy reassured his wife: “Mandy, you can’t persuade Sam to sell a home just because Tina wants to get her hands on it.
“Tell Vinny the truth, he deserves that at least. The longer you leave it, the harder it’s going to be, trust me.
“He won’t hate you. You’re his mum, no matter what Tina says or anybody else. He loves you.”
Paddy added: “Mandy, you can’t let your Tina do this. You can’t let her win.
Inspired by his words, Mandy replied: “You’re right. Why should I be the one creeping around for that scheming cow? It stops here.
“I need to speak to Vinny, make sure he understands.
“If [Tina] thinks she’s going to be threatening me again, she’s got another thing coming.”
