However, they accidentally recorded a confession from Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) admitting she settled for Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and really loves her ex husband George Knight (Colin Salmon).

She also revealed that she is sleeping with her stepson Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) because he reminds her of George and closes her eyes to pretend he is him.

Elaine was left stunned when she heard the revelation in Friday’s episode.

But the big question is… what will she do next?

Will she tell George what she knows?

Or will she confront Cindy and beg her to tell her family the truth?

As Christmas Day approaches, George invites the Beales to spend the day with Knights.

The BBC trailer shows George being gifted a USB stick with Cindy’s voice recording on it.

As he plugs it into his laptop and plays it in a pub full of people, including the Beale and Knight families.

With Cindy left gobsmacked by the turn of events, can she talk her way out of this one?

Meanwhile, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) is still onto Cindy about her involvement with Kojo’s (Dayo Koleosho) fall.

However, Peter Beale (Thomas Law) and Ian fail to believe Lauren word over Cindy’s, convinced the pills are affecting her judgement.

Can Lauren prove to them that she is telling the truth?

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and is available to stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
