What time is EastEnders on Christmas Day? What happens?

This Christmas Day, EastEnders will be on twice for two 30-minute episodes. One will air at 7:30pm, and the second part will be much later at 10:35pm in a move that has divided fans. It’s thought the episode will not be dropping on BBC iPlayer that morning, while the show is yet to share their schedule for the week.

As for what happens, there’s one major plot running through the whole episode leading to huge scenes. Cindy Beale’s affair with Junior Knight comes to light.

In the lead-up, evidence emerges that could reveal all, and Cindy fights to cover her tracks. But it seems nothing can stop the secret from coming out as Christmas Day sees “secrets and lies throw a wrecking ball into the Beale family”.

The shocking truth about Cindy is revealed in spectacular fashion at The Queen Vic and all hell breaks loose between the families. Elsewhere, Ruby Allen leaves Stacey Slater infuriated amid her growing feelings for ex Martin Fowler.

Phil Mitchell continues to isolate himself and Sharon Watts senses he isn’t himself. She soon finds herself confiding in an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, Denise Fox and Ravi Gulati get closer, while she still has feelings for her ex-husband Jack Branning – so who will she choose?
