What time is Emmerdale on tonight as the soap airs another schedule change?

On Friday February 28, 2025, Emmerdale will once again move in the schedules. Instead of airing on ITV at 7.30pm it will air earlier at 7pm. It is also available on ITVX from 7am.

The soap will air for half an hour from 7pm until 7.30pm and it will then be followed by live FA Cup Football as Aston Villa take on Cardiff City. The football kicks off at 8pm, meaning Emmerdale has to move for the build-up coverage. For fans of Coronation Street, that is cancelled altogether tonight.

Schedule changes next year for the soap ‘power hour’

ITV announced earlier this month a new Emmerdale schedule for 2026 – with the introduction of what is being called a soap ‘power hour’ starting from next January.

Emmerdale will continue to air five nights a week. New episodes will also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual – meaning we don’t have to wait all day if we don’t want to!

However, the soap will move to a new time slot of 8pm. The Thursday double bill will also be cut to half an hour to make way for additional episodes of Coronation Street.

This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.
