On Wednesday March 5, 2025, Emmerdale will air in its usual schedule spot. It will air on ITV at 7.30pm, with the day’s episode also available from 7am on ITVX.
What happens in Emmerdale tonight?
Things are difficult for Jacob Gallagher in Wednesday night’s Emmerdale. After dismissing Liam’s advice it was too soon to go back to work, Jacob soon realises Liam was right. He struggles when an accident comes in and has a panic attack.
Unable to deal with his grief, Jacob then heads for drinks at the Hide with Rich. Both Laurel and Belle express their concern for him, but Jacob does not want to hear it.
Sarah then steps in and tries to talk to Jacob, but he is cold and dismissive. He rejects her out right and tells her to stay away from him.
Tearful Sarah leaves and then pulls a pregnancy test out of her handbag. Is she really pregnant? And how will Jacob react if she is?
Schedule changes next year for the soap ‘power hour’
ITV announced earlier this month a new Emmerdale schedule for 2026 – with the introduction of what is being called a soap ‘power hour’ starting from next January.
Emmerdale will continue to air five nights a week. New episodes will also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual – meaning we don’t have to wait all day if we don’t want to!
However, the soap will move to a new time slot of 8pm. The Thursday double bill will also be cut to half an hour to make way for additional episodes of Coronation Street.
This ensures faster-paced, digestible episodes – a 30-minute format which has already proven popular with viewers.
