Who’s the father of April Windsor’s baby in Emmerdale?

During scenes tonight, Emmerdale’s April Windsor (played by Amelia Flanagan) revealed who the father of her baby was – but is she telling the truth?

As Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) sat by her hospital bed, April poured her heart out, detailing the reason she ran away from home. She also dropped the bombshell news that she would not be returning home to the village.

Earlier this week, April went into labour and gave birth in the toilet of a gym. However, in tragic scenes, the teenager realised her baby was stillborn.

April was later discovered on a bench by a member of the public and was rushed to hospital. And up until now, April had kept the father’s identity to herself.

Who’s the father of April Windsor’s baby?

April told her father that a “random” boy she met at a party was the father of her child.

Trying to find out who the father was, Marlon probed: “And the boy? Is there anyone else you need me to call for you?”

“Was he part of the reason you left? Were the two of you still in contact? Does he know that you…?”

April replied, confirming the father’s identity: “He was just a random lad that I met at a party – I didn’t even know his name, dad.”

“You said that we didn’t have to talk,” she pleaded.

As Marlon went to leave the room, April asked: “What happened to my baby? I know it was dead. It wasn’t breathing.”

“The police took it somewhere,” Marlon explained as he told his daughter she went into labour a lot sooner than expected.

After blaming herself, April sobbed: “I can’t come home. Everyone will know what I did and that I left my baby in a toilet.”

Despite April seemingly confirming the identity of the father, it hasn’t stopped fans coming up with their own theories.

Someone wrote on a Facebook fan page: “Who got April pregnant? I have a good idea who it could be, and it will be someone no one can guess. Elliott (Kelly and Jimmy’s son).”

“Josh Cope, Samson ‘s friend, the bad lad,” another theorised as a third added: “I thought him too or whoever this Avery person is who blocked her.”

Another viewer seemed to think Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) was the father, with many agreeing with the suggestion.

Will April end up leaving the village for good, or will Marlon be able to persuade her to come back?
