‘work out’ Zack Hudson twist after car crash cliffhanger

EastEnders has unveiled the fate of Teddy Mitchell (played by Roland Manookian) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) following their harrowing car crash, leaving fans on edge as one character’s life hangs in the balance.

This week saw Teddy in a frantic race to prevent Harry (portrayed by Elijah Holloway) from harming Zack after the bombshell that he’s Barney’s (Lewis Bridgeman) biological father came to light.

In a desperate bid, Teddy hitched a ride with his brother Billy (Perry Fenwick), Honey (Emma Barton), and Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) to locate his son. The tension peaked when Harry confessed to abducting Zack to “scare him”, revealing an unconscious Zack stashed in the boot of his car.

Teddy managed to defuse the perilous situation and took it upon himself to drive Zack home. However, chaos ensued when a revived Zack grappled with Teddy for control of the car, resulting in a terrifying plunge into the lake.

In the gripping episode aired on Wednesday (May 28), now available on iPlayer, Harry was left screaming in terror, fearing his father had perished, until Teddy emerged from the water seemingly unscathed. He recounted to the Mitchells his failed attempt to rescue Zack from the depths, reports Belfast Live.

While Honey dialled for emergency services, she and Billy were dealt another blow upon discovering that the vulnerable Nigel had vanished.

After a tense search, Teddy and Honey located a disoriented Nigel in the forest, who recalled that Teddy was at the helm during the crash.

The Mitchells were struck with panic, believing Zack had met a watery end, while Teddy braced himself for the fallout. However, Honey proposed they deceive the police by claiming Teddy’s car was nicked.

Over on the Square, Vicki Fowler (played by Alice Haig) didn’t hesitate to point fingers at the Mitchells for Zack’s supposed demise, as she revealed to Barney the true story of his parentage.

Yet, EastEnders enthusiasts are buzzing with theories that Zack might have survived, given that Teddy failed to find his body in the water, hinting that Zack might have made a stealthy getaway from the Mitchell menace.

Fans have been airing their thoughts on Facebook, with one posting: “Teddy’s out the water and no sign of Zack….”

Another fan responded with: “Zack, well we think but watch this he will have swam out.”

A third weighed in with their guess: “I’m wondering if Zack is already out and got to safety and was lying low somewhere out of sight? Teddy said he couldn’t find Zack, that he tried looking for him. Teddy is leaving apparently so wondering if he d.i.e.s of secondary drowning? .”

One viewer surmised, “I think he’s gone into hiding because of how dangerous they are”.

And another hoped, “Hopefully just gone into hiding and be back in a year or 2.. probably off to see Sharon”.
